RELX 4th Gen Infinity wins the German Red Dot Design Award
Today, I’d like to introduce the RELX 4th Gen device.
The extra features of the RELX 4th Gen are wireless charging and a leak-resistant design, which was also one of the main reasons it became so popular at the time. First, let me start with the device itself.
The RELX 4th Gen still has a matte finish, with a smooth and rounded exterior and excellent craftsmanship.
Personally, I think it feels a bit heavier, which gives it a more premium feel. It has a satisfying weight in the hand and feels very comfortable.
In terms of texture and overall feel, it looks more mature and refined. It is slightly shorter and narrower than the 1st generation, making it look more compact.
The front breathing light continues the circular design from the 2nd generation, but with only one ring, making it look more delicate and more high-tech.
The exterior design of the RELX 4th Gen is truly impressive. It won the 2020 German Red Dot Design Award.
Finally, let’s focus on the charging function of the RELX 4th Gen. It uses something similar to a charging case, which you can think of as a storage case + power bank combination. There are two contact points at the bottom of the device, so it can be placed inside for charging. It also offers drop protection, added safety, and a very premium feel.
In the internal structure of the RELX 4th Gen, it uses a self-developed extra-long labyrinth airflow channel, which is RELX’s innovation to help prevent leakage.
Of course, the RELX 4th Gen also has its drawbacks: there are too few pod flavors available, and there are not many device colors and quantities; the wireless charging case was launched relatively late, and stock has been very limited.
As for flavors, the ones released are all popular choices, just not many of them. (But this doesn’t affect much, because RELX 4th Gen and RELX 5th Gen pods are cross-compatible, so even if one is out of stock, it’s not a big problem.)
