VAPORESSO XTRA Pod Device Review: A More Refined Experience Inspired by ZERO 2

VAPORESSO recently launched the new OSMALL pod device (also known as the ZERO 2) which has quickly become a hit product in the refillable pod market due to its incredibly low price and outstanding usability.

So what surprises does the recently launched refillable XTRA pod device have in store? Let’s share some insights today.

As seen in the image, it still comes with the familiar features from VAPORESSO, but this time it includes a Chinese instruction manual. Additionally, there is an extra pod included.

XTRA currently offers a total of 8 color options. The one in this article features a colorful resin panel, which is officially described as such. However, in reality, this resin-like material feels more like faux leather, providing a very pleasant and slightly soft touch.

Its dimensions are 73.9*38.8*16.7mm, with a built-in 900 mAh battery. The image shows that it has an irregular shape, with three holes at the bottom of the semicircular right side for battery venting; the button on the left is the power button, which can be activated by pressing it 5 times, but it has no other functions. Other specifics can be found in the manual.

The device comes with a 0.8Ω mesh coil, while the accessory pack includes a 1.2Ω standard coil. Both still use cotton as the oil-wicking material, indicating that the once-proud ceramic coil seems to be on its way to being replaced.

The new pods also feature a redesigned oil filling hole (similar to the OSMALL), with a large silicone plug and a big filling hole, making it much more convenient than the previous ZERO series pods.

Using the 1.2Ω pod, while structurally similar to the OSMALL, actually shows less sensitivity to sweetness in flavor performance. This doesn’t mean it’s bad; it performs exceptionally well with both single flavor and complex e-liquids, and the reduced sweetness can be seen as a unique characteristic, much like a vaporizer.

The 0.8Ω mesh coil is definitely suited for regular nicotine e-liquids, and its flavor performance is more than adequate for this type of pod device, excelling in both taste and vapor production. However, its heat output characteristics and oil-wicking performance are not well-suited for e-liquids with a VG ratio above 70VG, so please take note of this.

While some may already consider the XTRA to be an upgraded version of the OSMALL, it actually surpasses in craftsmanship, materials, battery life, and the usage scenarios of the two types of coils, making it a standout in its category. Coupled with a relatively moderate price point, it offers great value for money.
