UWELL Caliburn G Compact Vaping Device Hands-On Review: Very Good, but Not Perfect

The UWELL Caliburn G is arguably the most iconic product from the brand, as its excellent user experience combined with an affordable price made it an instant hit upon its release.

Subsequent products from the brand, although named differently, continue to be referred to as Caliburn 2, 3, etc. by retailers.

Today, I want to share with you the authentic second-generation product of the Caliburn series: the Caliburn G.

The package includes a Chinese instruction manual, a spare coil, and a Type-C charging cable.

The Caliburn G retains the bar design of the first generation, measuring 108.3*22.5*12.6mm, and features a built-in 690mAh battery, making it lightweight at only 60g.

The surface of the device features a wave pattern design, and the matte finish gives it a great tactile and visual quality.

As an upgraded version of the Caliburn, it still features both button-activated and draw-activated modes. On the side of the device, you can see a single airflow hole design, and the transparent slot between the body and the e-liquid tank allows for easy observation of the e-liquid level.

The traditional UWELL e-liquid tank design and the gap between the tank and the body are also retained in this model.

The pod still uses the tank + coil structure, but this time it features a completely new design.

From the bottom view, you can see the limited linkage between the coil and the tank. The right side shows the airflow hole, which corresponds to the single airflow hole when installed on the device, allowing for different installation orientations to increase the overall airflow path and change the draw resistance. As for the left side, I am not sure what it is for.

To replace the coil, simply pull it out from the bottom. For refilling, you need to remove the silicone cap on the drip tip; although it fits tightly after installation, the process of removing it can be quite laborious.

.

The refill hole uses a built-in silicone plug, while the small hole on the other side serves as a vent hole.

Once you add e-liquid, the silicone plug will automatically reseal, and the physical properties created by the vent hole ensure that it won't leak a single drop during daily use.

The coil used this time is a new 0.8Ω coil.

This 0.8Ω coil, when using 3mg e-liquid, may not provide a full flavor experience due to its moderate resistance; however, if using salt nicotine e-liquids, which are commonly at 35mg concentration, the strong stimulation can lead to discomfort. Therefore, I only recommend using 6mg regular e-liquids, which is contrary to UWELL's usual excellent experience.

Is it good to use? The Caliburn G is indeed effective and user-friendly. Is its flavor lacking? It meets the mainstream market's usage experience, and while you won't find any major flaws, it also lacks standout features to satisfy users, which is clearly not enough.

So, I am eagerly looking forward to the 1.0Ω coil that has been marked but not mentioned in the manual.
