Hands-On Review of the New MOTI S Lite and New Flavor Testing

This time, we received the MOTI S Lite in the Dark Night Green color scheme.

The packaging style is the same as the Moti S, with a hard cardboard shell that opens like a door. Interestingly, the interior uses a satin-like finish, giving it a high-end feel. The device is made of aluminum alloy, with precision CNC milling, providing a smooth feel while maintaining sharp edges. The gradient color is achieved through anodizing, transitioning naturally and softly. The appearance of the device is not much different from the Moti S, with the breathing light, edges, and mouthpiece shape being basically the same. Additionally, the S Lite has a reminder function to prevent overuse; if you take 20 puffs within 10 minutes, it will vibrate once. 【Rating: 9/10】

Flavor restoration and throat hit:

The kit comes with three pods, which are Cola Time, Mango Passion, and Green Bean Smoothie flavors. The pod oil capacity is 1.2ml, and the heating material is a custom Feelm ceramic atomization core with a resistance of 1 ohm.

Here comes the first highlight: the MCU (Microcontroller Unit). Most pod-based devices on the market use constant output power, but under cold start conditions, the constant power takes time to ramp up, making the initial puffs feel hollow as the oil heats from room temperature to the optimal flavor. The Moti S Lite uses an MCU chip instead of a low-cost IC (Integrated Circuit) solution, dynamically adjusting the output power between 6W and 9W. It synthesizes a high-quality output power curve from 2 million effective puff data points, adapting the heating temperature to the Feelm atomization core and the corresponding specific flavor oil. The chip recognizes cold starts and high-power transient impacts, ensuring that each puff delivers the fullest flavor, achieving the concept of "instant big clouds."

Cola Time: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The initial taste is a unique blend of rose and cherry blossom fragrance from the MOTI cola flavor, followed by a mild carbonation taste of cola drinks. The carbonation is weak, and it’s a pity that it doesn’t reflect the bubbly sensation. I would categorize it as a Pepsi-like flavor, a bit sweeter. Personally, I prefer the stronger carbonation and astringency of Coca-Cola. This cola flavor aligns with the overall tone of classic MOTI products, with cherry blossom cola showing good layering. 【Flavor Rating: 8/10】

Mango Passion: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The top note is mango skin, and the mid-note is the very obvious sweetness of green mango flesh, which is more subtle compared to ripe mango styles. The sweetness is more restrained, unlike the previous explosive sweetness, giving me the sensation of mango juice flowing in my mouth. The experience is natural and pure, with a refreshing aftertaste, complemented by a suitable coolness, making it a summer thirst quencher. 【Flavor Rating: 9/10】

Green Bean Smoothie: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The smooth green bean paste has a subtle milky flavor, paired with a moderate coolness, creating a perfect green bean dessert experience. The sweetness has decreased compared to previous MOTI products, and I believe this sweetness is just right, allowing for continuous puffs without feeling harsh on the throat. 【Flavor Rating: 8.5/10】

Mountain Raspberry: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The fresh raspberry aroma seems to have hints of sour plum and hawthorn. The entry is sweet and sour, with a refreshing aftertaste. The acidity is well-balanced, and the flavor layers are rich. Refreshing Green Apple: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. Upon opening the pod, the aroma is rich apple juice, while the taste leans more towards the astringency of apple skin, reminiscent of a slightly unripe, dewy green apple. It’s juicier, with a relatively weak sweetness, and the acidity is concentrated in the aftertaste, accompanied by a slight astringency from the skin. Mint Oolong: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The fusion of this flavor is quite high, making it difficult to separate the two tastes. The peach direction is no longer the common white peach, but leans more towards ripe, sweeter honey peach. Mint Tobacco: Nicotine content 2%, throat hit satisfaction is weak. The roasted tobacco has a faint buttery note in the aftertaste. The mint emphasizes the herbal flavor of menthol, creating a sensation similar to smoking cool tobacco. Overall, the flavor blending remains excellent, with the most surprising performance being the acidity. After too many sweet flavors, one tends to want a change. Among these flavors, my favorite is Mountain Raspberry, with a rich and full aroma, balanced sweet and sour, and a refreshing aftertaste, showing a natural softness. The flavored profiles indicate a mature system striving to add its own characteristics, enhancing flavor recognition. Hidden Easter Egg:

Did you think the flavor review was over? Naive! The second highlight of the unboxing: the Surge Mode.

By quickly inserting and removing the pod three times within a short time (the pod's bottom electrode must contact the indicator light), the fourth time fully inserting the pod into the mechanical slot switches from normal mode to Surge Mode, at which point the light will change from white to purple and vibrate, opening a new world. In Surge Mode, the constant power output is 9W, significantly increasing the vapor volume and intensifying the flavor. This mode outputs a power curve approaching the limits of the atomization core, pursuing the ultimate flavor. It’s important to note that the "squeezing" of the atomization core is in an extreme state, which will reduce the device's battery life and the number of puffs from the pod, hence the limits of 60 seconds and 3 puffs are set, automatically switching back to normal mode upon reaching the threshold. Personally, using this mode noticeably enhances the coolness, and the flavor undoubtedly presents explosively.

Leakage Test:

The pods are sealed with silicone plugs on both ends, and there was no leakage before or during use. 【Rating: 10/10】

Condensate Situation:

The correct puffing posture is very important; do not lie down, side puff, or inhale upside down. This is common sense for using pod devices. I have not encountered any condensate while puffing. 【Rating: 10/10】

Oil Explosion Phenomenon:

No oil explosion phenomenon. It’s worth mentioning that this product uses a "Y" shaped side dual-hole air intake, providing smooth and quiet puffs. Overall Evaluation:

MOTI's product design is very appealing to me. In terms of flavor blending, the new flavors from the classic pod devices have been very thoughtful, with basically no drawbacks, and market feedback is the strongest proof. This time, the three flavors included in the Moti S Lite kit allow you to taste the classic flavor blending style of MOTI, with the overall tone consistent with the existing product line, the biggest difference being the reduced sweetness, which is no longer as cloying as before, and the sweetness feels more natural and less forced, especially the mango and green bean flavors truly amazed me. As someone who has reviewed at least sixty to seventy pod products, I find these two flavors quite refreshing, as most brands are producing similar products, but this time the natural sweetness of mango and the smoothness of green bean make me want to keep puffing, which is why I give these two flavors a very high rating.

One point I want to emphasize here is the issue of pod capacity; it’s not that bigger is always better. The accumulation of carbon on the heating wire, the return of condensate, and the oxidation of oil due to repeated heating can all affect flavor to varying degrees. Moreover, excessive use can lead to Vapor’s Tongue (taste fatigue). Of course, a smaller pod capacity directly results in fewer puffs, decreasing cost-effectiveness and increasing usage costs. MOTI's product is positioned for players who pursue ultimate flavor and differentiated performance while not overly concerned about price. If you have high demands for flavor, I personally highly recommend giving it a try. It’s a very comfortable experience!
