RELX Classic vs Bode New Amber - Vaping Product Comparison Review

When it comes to vaping, RELX is impossible to ignore. It holds the top market share, and its brand marketing leaves many competitors far behind. Among RELX products, the absolute bestseller is the RELX Classic, also known as the first-generation RELX. Wh

When it comes to e-cigarettes, RELX is an unavoidable topic, holding the top market share, and its brand promotion makes other e-cigarette brands pale in comparison. The absolute champion under the RELX brand is undoubtedly the RELX Classic, also known as the first generation of RELX.

Why compare these two e-cigarette brands? Because their product styles and brand strategies have taken almost completely different paths. RELX focuses more on brand marketing, while Bode emphasizes product research and optimization. Of course, RELX is also making efforts in product development now, but Bode's brand promotion leaves much to be desired.

From the data in the "Shubang Yutu" statistics, we can see that in the annual ranking of domestic e-cigarette brands in 2019, RELX, with its absolute advantage, became the strongest king, surpassing 41 other brands on the list. It was somewhat surprising that Bode managed to defeat other e-cigarette brands that like to create hype and ranked second.

Mind share is not just about the number of advertisements; it can be simply understood as the overall influence among users. As for the DB total value, sorry, I don't know what that is, I hope someone can enlighten me.

Today, we will compare the flagship products of these two leading brands. Of course, I admit that comparing the new Amber with the RELX Classic is a bit unfair, like comparing the iPhone X with the iPhone 8; this is, of course, a very inappropriate example, but I just want to illustrate that

both are good, but the technology and positioning of the RELX Classic are relatively "old-fashioned." However, the market share of the RELX Classic still qualifies it for this comparison.

This comparison will analyze the following key points:

Appearance and Craftsmanship

RELX Classic: A traditional pod-style e-cigarette design, simple and elegant, lightweight and fashionable, with a uniquely shaped pod interface that is lower in the front and higher in the back. The exterior coating uses a finely textured matte finish with a strong metallic feel. The droplet-shaped battery indicator light design is clever.

Bode New Amber: A heartfelt creation by French designer Victor, who won the Red Dot Design Award, incorporating more design elements. The body is round and smooth, with a more substantial feel, and the pod interface adopts a "mountain-shaped" unique design that cleverly integrates with the Bode logo. The exterior uses a thicker metallic paint finish, and the outermost layer of varnish enhances the gloss.

Pod Capacity

RELX Classic: 2ml of e-liquid capacity, which is in line with the mainstream pod-style e-cigarette capacity.

Bode New Amber: 3.5ml of super large e-liquid capacity, which has broken through the 2.0ml technical barrier.

Of course, the prices of 2ml and 3.5ml are different, but 3.5ml offers better cost-effectiveness and reduces the hassle of frequently changing pods.

Atomization Core Technology

The principle of e-cigarettes is to use the atomization core to atomize the e-liquid in the pod, producing vapor for inhalation. The material and technology of the atomization core directly determine the atomization effect, leading to differences in taste.

Both RELX and Bode use more advanced ceramic graphene atomization cores instead of cotton heating wires, resulting in a more delicate and moist atomization effect, with a more comfortable taste and better e-liquid resolution.

Among them, the RELX Classic uses a third-generation atomization core, while the Bode New Amber uses a seventh-generation core. However, I believe this is more of a gimmick, as both have excellent atomization effects. Bode's richness may be better, but I think it also relates to the e-liquid formulation.

Battery Capacity

RELX Classic: 350mAh.

Bode New Amber: 420mAh.

The difference in battery capacity raises a usage-related concept: battery life. A 350mAh capacity may not last a full day if you use it frequently, making it common for e-cigarettes to need charging twice a day.

In contrast, the 420mAh capacity, after long-term testing, can last a day and a half on a full charge, aligning well with users' habit of charging once a day, effectively avoiding battery anxiety. #p#分页标题#e#

Air Intake Position

Why discuss the air intake position separately? As shown in the diagram, the air intake of the RELX Classic is located on both sides of the device, while Bode's is at the bottom, inside the Type-C charging port.

This raises a usage issue: when you hold the e-cigarette, if you accidentally block the air intake of the RELX Classic, it greatly affects the user experience, while the Bode New Amber is unlikely to have this issue.

Flavor Variety

The e-cigarette device is the gun, the pods are the magazines, and the e-liquids are the bullets.

The number of pod flavors is one of the factors determining user experience, and in this regard, the Bode New Amber is currently lagging behind.

Bode New Amber: 13 flavors.

RELX Classic: 28 flavors. (Several flavors are duplicates, differing only in nicotine content.)

In terms of taste, the tobacco flavor of the Bode New Amber is more impressive, and the blueberry burst flavor is a top-tier presence in the e-cigarette world. Overall, the style is more delicate and rich, with a good combination of restoration and style modulation, and most flavors stand up to scrutiny.

In contrast, the flavors of the RELX Classic are fresher and lighter, though there are also flavors with a strong throat hit.

The success of the RELX Classic is beyond doubt, even though there were previously widespread jokes about "accidentally leaking e-liquid everywhere." Now, after the manufacturer's quality control, the leakage issue has improved significantly. However, due to its astonishing market share, it has led to a proliferation of counterfeit products, which is a concern for manufacturers and all users.

Of course, if your purchasing channel is reliable, RELX is a brand worth trying. But when the prices of the two are similar, clearly, I would recommend the Bode New Amber.
