RELX 1st generation review: hands-on experience and impressions

I became interested in e-cigarettes after seeing an article on a subscription account discussing this year's trend, with many investors focusing on e-cigarettes. Soon after, several subscription accounts began reporting on various e-cigarette brands.

In 2018, an American e-cigarette brand called JUUL, with 500 employees, gave each employee a year-end bonus of $1.3 million! (In fact, many of their customers are teenagers.)

This piqued my interest as a smoker of 10 years who had never considered quitting. I had seen others using e-cigarettes before; it just seemed like a device that produced a lot of vapor and had a pleasant smell, but why were so many brands suddenly emerging, like RELX, YOOZ, MOTI, LINX, FLOW... I decided to buy one of the most well-known and relatively inexpensive options to try it out for a couple of days, and the product arrived.

My first impression was that the box was very minimalist, with a large white device and a logo, nothing else.

Upon unboxing, it came with 2 pods and 1 device. One pod was a refreshing mint flavor, and the other was a classic tobacco flavor; I will explain how both flavors tasted later.

When I first used the device, it was charged. Since my daughter was born, I have preferred mint-flavored cigarettes (I was really tired during those days around her birth, and mint was very refreshing). I installed the refreshing mint pod to try it out; it wasn't as intense as a Marlboro burst, but the throat hit was still quite strong, giving a feeling similar to smoking a real cigarette. After taking another puff, the cool flavor emerged, but it wasn't harsh. I finished the first pod in 4 and a half days, which is much cheaper than smoking real cigarettes.

Switching to the second classic tobacco flavor, the first puff had a hint of watermelon flavor, and the throat hit was stronger. Since I usually smoke lighter cigarettes, I found this pod quite intense! This pod is more suitable for those who usually smoke stronger tobacco (which is most smokers!).

Now, let's talk about battery life, which everyone is concerned about. The first charge took about half an hour, and when the water droplet light turned off, it was fully charged. The next day, I didn't bring the charging cable and took the device to work instead. I vaped all day, and by evening, it still had battery life. The battery performance is good; it can easily be charged when you have time and used throughout the day! The data cable looks quite sturdy.

After finishing the two original pods, I ordered a box of frozen lemon tea flavor. This pod has a nicotine content of 3%, and it is quite smooth with a lemon tea flavor and a slight coolness, suitable for those who usually prefer lighter smoking. The throat hit is not as strong, which is a flavor I personally enjoy! I am trying other flavors as well!

Overall, the RELX e-cigarette is indeed quite good, very minimalist and business-like. When you want to vape, you can take it out for a puff without wasting it. Many times, when smoking traditional cigarettes, if you don't finish one, you just throw it away! Economically, it saves money! From a health perspective, it doesn't burn, has no tar, carbon monoxide, or other harmful substances, reducing harm by 95%! From a quitting perspective, after a week of vaping, I found traditional cigarettes quite disgusting, which is a good start!

Finally, I hope those who don't smoke won't start, and those who do will smoke less or switch to a different method. If you can quit smoking, that would be even better!
