‘A New Choice in Ready-Made Products’ – Brief Review of the AURO SALT TANK Atomizer
The popularity of nicotine salt e-liquids has led users to prefer refillable pod systems and DIY mouth-to-lung atomizers over closed pod systems and disposable products. So, what about ready-made tank atomizers? The only ones that come to mind are the "ancient" Nautilus and Nautilus 2 atomizers, perhaps due to the previous trend of large vapor production, where both DIY and ready-made devices leaned towards low resistance and large vapor output, leaving very few options for mouth-to-lung ready-made small devices.

Today, I want to share the AURO brand's SALT TANK, which was born out of market demand for a mouth-to-lung ready-made atomizer.

Upon opening, you will find two rubber rings, a glass tank, an atomizer core, and a bilingual instruction manual.

This atomizer is 55mm in length and has a base diameter of 22mm, but the design that narrows from the tank section upwards gives it a somewhat retro appearance. The 2.0ml tank may not be large, but it is sufficient for matching with nicotine salt e-liquids and the required power, allowing for a full day of use without issues.

Overall, the disassembled parts are shown in the image above, and the workmanship is impeccable.

The drip tip is of 510 specification, and its central airflow channel has a tapered shape, effectively preventing condensation during inhalation. However, it is worth noting that the top fill feature is not supported, which slightly detracts from convenience.

The two images above show that it comes with a fixed base connected via the central airflow tube. This design is not problematic, but there may be issues with the base separating from the tank during disassembly. However, it still supports damage-free coil replacement. As for refilling, it is done through the three holes on the base.

The airflow settings include three options: 0.8mm, 1.0mm, and 1.2mm. When set to the smallest 0.8mm, you can achieve a tight draw reminiscent of the Nautilus or the chess piece. At maximum, it is comparable to the largest airflow settings of those classic atomizers. Overall, it is a true mouth-to-lung setup.

The atomizer comes with a 1.8Ω coil pre-installed, and the package includes a 1.5Ω coil. The three oil inlet holes on the coil are sufficiently large, ensuring strong oil delivery without causing leaks due to excessive permeability. The heating wire material used in the coil is officially stated to be nickel-chromium.

This atomizer is designed to work with nicotine salt e-liquids. In actual use, both coil specifications produce a very delicate flavor after vaporization, and the high resistance combined with the tight airflow results in a "rich taste." If using traditional nicotine e-liquids, its performance remains excellent, but it is essential to match it with high PG and high nicotine content e-liquids. If someone insists on using high VG or low nicotine content e-liquids and finds the performance lacking, it is merely a misunderstanding of what type of e-liquid should be used with this atomizer.

For power recommendations, the 1.5Ω coil is suggested to be used at 9W, while the 1.8Ω coil is recommended for 7-8W. For nicotine salt, it is recommended to use 30-35mg e-liquids with the 1.5Ω coil and 40-50mg with the 1.8Ω coil. For regular nicotine, a 12mg concentration is suggested. Considering all these points, the 2.0ml tank capacity is sufficient for a full day of vaping, and when paired with a single battery mod, it can last two to three days without issues, making it convenient and hassle-free.

"Everything is for nicotine salt" is the slogan of this atomizer, and in practice, it indeed performs well in this regard. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the lack of a top-fill feature. That said, I wonder if you or those around you will compare it to Nautilus or similar atomizers? It's an interesting phenomenon to consider.
