Review Report: Zippo Brand VAZO Pod System

Appearance:

This time, I received the VAZO pod system marked as model 111010. This version features a basic anodized aluminum panel, and there are also panel sets available with different styles of IMD and antique silver materials for consumers to choose from.

In terms of configuration, it is the common one device, one pod, one cable setup. Notably, the pod packaging uses a plastic-sealed bag for easier carrying, and it is recommended to spray flavor information on the bag for easier identification. The breathing light is located on the device's frame, featuring an interesting Zippo flame logo. The air intake hole is integrated at the bottom charging port to avoid the awkwardness of accidentally blocking the air intake with your hand. The panel features a mechanical sliding track, with the bottom secured by two elastic metal balls instead of magnetic fixation. [Rating: 8/10]

Flavor Restoration and Throat Hit:

The kit comes with a pure mint pod, with a pod e-liquid capacity of 1.8ml and a cotton core heating material, providing a high level of flavor restoration. Additionally, I received mint green bean, grape ice, lemon grapefruit, white peach oolong, and lychee ice flavored pods. The PGVG ratio is 50:50, and the overall vapor production is relatively large.

The first puff was impressive; finally, there was no overwhelming mint flavor reminiscent of various chewing gums, mint candies, mouthwashes, or toothpaste. I wonder what the flavoring philosophy is for most brands on the market now; wouldn’t it be better to keep the mint flavor pure and restore the herbal aroma?

This mint flavor is quite straightforward, primarily refreshing, with a faint herbal taste at the end. Continuous puffs do not introduce too many off-flavors, making it very pure. [Rating: 8.5/10]

This flavor is quite common among brands, and it is inherently difficult to create distinctive characteristics, leading to severe homogenization. VAZO's green bean flavor is relatively neutral, not too strong or overly sweet, at a normal level, but personally, I find it unremarkable. [Rating: 7/10]

Upon entry, there is a very rich aroma of grape skin, and the satisfaction of the fruit juice bursting upon biting is very natural. The aftertaste has hints of fruitwood and rose, reminiscent of the raw materials for grape wine. Overall, it has a flavor similar to high-end Swiss fruit juice gummies, but unfortunately, the sweetness is relatively low, and the continuity of flavor diminishes too quickly after several puffs, becoming bland and hollow, losing the surprise of the first puff. The grapefruit flavor is quite strong, while the lemon is less pronounced. The sweetness is relatively low, giving me the impression of drinking grapefruit soda. White Peach Oolong: Nicotine content 2% (20mg/ml), throat hit satisfaction is weak.

The pairing of peach flavor and oolong tea is quite skillful, with each flavor being distinct without overshadowing the other. The peach's fruity aroma and sweetness are always present, masking some of the bitterness of the oolong tea, while the lingering tea flavor in the mouth is perfectly balanced.

Lychee Ice: Nicotine content 0, a nicotine-free version.

This is also a rare flavor that naturally restores the aroma of lychee flesh, without the common issue of overly strong artificial flavoring. The problem with this flavor also lies in its sweetness and continuity of flavor.

Lychee as a fruit requires high sweetness as the main note, but VAZO's version is clearly too low in sweetness, and the lychee flavor dissipates with continuous puffs, showing a hollow performance, with a significant drop in restoration in the later stages. Oil Leakage:

No leakage before the pod is unsealed, and I have not encountered any leakage from the bottom so far. [Rating: 10/10]

Condensate:

Due to the design of the pod, the airflow path is relatively short, which leads to significant condensate accumulation while ensuring sufficient vapor production. I hope the manufacturer can make appropriate adjustments to address this issue. [Rating: 8/10]

Oil Explosion:

Due to the use of cotton cores, the first two puffs may produce a popping sound, but there is no oil explosion phenomenon. [Rating: 10/10]

Burnt Core:

No issues encountered during normal continuous puffs. [Rating: 10/10]

Battery Life:

The battery capacity is 400mAh, using a Type-C charging interface. [Rating: 8/10]

Overall Evaluation:

This small e-cigarette produces a relatively large amount of vapor and has a certain level of playability. Overall, the flavoring is quite natural, with a relatively low sweetness, and some flavors need further improvement in continuity.

Regarding the replaceable panels, I hope the official can consider launching various patterned material panels for separate sale to increase the fun of DIY. [Rating: 8/10]
