As a new brand under RELX, Yixiyun has launched eight flavors of pods, including Night Cuba, Blue Water Lily, Red Wusu, Green Tile Pavilion, Golden Sand Crossing, Golden Sweet Gan, Purple Star, and Black Ice.

According to user reviews provided by RELX, the unique aspect of this series of pods is their closer resemblance to traditional tobacco flavors. In the development process, RELX utilized natural tobacco oil as the main flavor component of the e-liquid, thereby reducing sweetness and providing users with a rich, smooth, and layered experience.

Authentically replicating the taste of real cigarettes has always been a desired upgrade for many e-cigarette users.

RELX stated that by analyzing the aroma of traditional tobacco during combustion, they extracted key aromatic substances for specialized blending, recreating the pure traditional aroma for Yixiyun pods.

According to Wen Yilong, co-founder and head of R&D and supply chain at RELX, the e-liquid for Yixiyun pods uses natural organic acids extracted from benzoin, allowing the vapor to be shaped into a fuller, smoother taste.

To maximize the extraction of natural organic acids from benzoin, RELX employs extraction technology to enhance the purity of the organic acids to over 98% through recrystallization. This technology is one of the core innovations of RELX's atomization technology platform.

"To find the familiar flavor in users' minds and replicate it in electronic vapor products, the R&D team spent three months visiting multiple cities, quantitatively surveying over 400 users, and conducting in-depth discussions with 72 of them," said Wen Yilong.

Additionally, based on user feedback, RELX summarized over 30 sensory evaluation dimensions for Yixiyun pods to quantify and assess flavor quality before product launch.

Notably, RELX has also included an eco-friendly fragrance card within the packaging of Yixiyun pods. The aroma simulating natural flavors is locked onto the card for consumers to savor. It is understood that in the future, RELX will develop more electronic vapor products for the Yixiyun brand that focus on traditional flavor preferences.
