Hands-On Experience with the MOTI MEGA PRO
On July 26, when the device and pods arrived, I went to the specialty store and bought one: a black device plus a box of Hami melon pods.
It feels fairly heavy in the hand, but the grip is very comfortable. In Soft Mode, the very first puff felt a bit harsh, and I thought maybe I just wasn’t used to it. But after a few days, it was still harsh! On the other hand, one puff in Strong Mode feels very comfortable and really satisfying. I’m honestly starting to wonder if they mixed up the Strong and Soft modes!
Most importantly of all: it gets used up way too fast!!! Customer service said Soft Mode lasts for 160 puffs, and that’s about right in actual use. In Strong Mode, though, it’s less than 100 puffs. Does it show the pod capacity percentage? Because it drops by one point with every puff!!! I hardly dare take extra puffs! But Soft Mode is harsh and makes me cough. During this time I bought one box of Hami melon and one box of peach oolong; both flavors tasted pretty good, but I finished them quickly anyway. At 69 for two pods, using them like this is really hard on the wallet.
Also, this device feels pretty delicate, so I specifically bought a protective case for it. I figure if it gets dropped on the ground even once, it might be done for. Hopefully the manufacturer can improve the pods later on.
