Can RELX pod QR codes verify authenticity?
Because counterfeit RELX pods are now widespread, many people have recently reported that fake products can also be scanned. We bought a box of counterfeit pods for a detailed explanation to see whether scanning the code is still the only official way to verify whether a RELX product is genuine.
First, we need to understand that RELX currently provides two official authenticity verification methods. The first is to follow the official RELX WeChat account and then use WeChat to scan the QR code to earn points. The second is to download RELX ME, the official RELX app, and scan the code to receive Hi Coins. Below is the reply from RELX customer service.
From the image, we can see that this is the only official method for RELX product verification. So why do counterfeit products that can be scanned still exist? Let’s keep reading.

The image above shows the interface that appears when scanning the QR code on pods produced by RELX. The interface displays what product was scanned, and if you scroll down after scanning, you can see the official website address: app.relxtech.com
Now let’s look at the result produced by scanning a counterfeit product.

As you can clearly see, scanning it does not earn any points, and the counterfeit product’s website is wuxin.fwdby.com, which is obviously unrelated to RELX. There is also an obvious giveaway with the fake products: when you scan a watermelon-flavored pod, there is a chance the pod name will show up as mung bean flavor instead.
