MOTI Magic Flute vaping device series teardown review report

The black metal body is laser-engraved with the logo of the Magic Flute, but the three-hole breathing light on the vape pen has undergone significant changes compared to the existing circular breathing light of the Magic Flute products.

The back of the vape pen has CE certification and non-recyclable markings; just a note, isn't this marking a bit too large?

The CE mark is a safety certification mark regarded as a passport for manufacturers to enter the European market. It is a mandatory certification mark in the EU market, indicating that the product meets the basic requirements of the EU's "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standards" directive, representing a mandatory requirement for the product.

At first glance, the appearance may not seem particularly special, but this is just an outsider's perspective; we insiders need to look deeper.

Looking at this photo, it certainly looks like a lot of operations were involved...

The structural disassembly diagram looks standard; everything that should be there is there, and what shouldn't be there is absent.

Wait, what's going on with this circuit board?

Traditional small vape circuit boards are relatively simple, with fewer components, and most circuit boards are only the size of a fingernail, but the internal components of this new Magic Flute product are evidently much more complex, with a size nearly three times that of a conventional circuit board.

Initially, we speculated that the complex design might include a puff vibration reminder function, but after looking at other brands' internal structure diagrams, we found that the size of the circuit board is not significantly different from others.

We suspect that the new Magic Flute product contains many components, possibly including a data transmission module, and it may even be intended to connect with a smartphone?

Wait, isn't this an e-cigarette? It sounds like it's on track to become a "smart e-cigarette"?

We know that smartwatches need to pair with apps and smartphones to read some data; what is Magic Flute trying to do? However, after checking the Apple App Store, we found that Magic Flute does not have a related app.

However, we judge that with such a complex component structure, the possibility of app connectivity is very high. Could it be that this can allow you to adjust throat hit, airflow, and vapor volume through a smartphone app?

That's quite a leap; could it also include temperature control technology popular in the big vape era? Friends who enjoy big vapes can leave comments to enlighten us.

Blue Hole boldly speculates that Magic Flute may be trying to create a smart e-cigarette that records user data like a fitness tracker, generating a smoking report after connecting to an app?

For example, how many puffs this cartridge has been used for, the maximum depth, how long it took, and even the frequency of puffs, the e-cigarette industry's equivalent of a fitness tracker?

These speculations await further confirmation, but they are indeed quite innovative. I wonder if you noticed that the disassembly diagram actually shows four atomizing cores; let's take a look at another spy photo from a different angle.

There can only be one atomizing core in a cartridge; what is Magic Flute doing?

The first one on the right is easily identifiable as a cotton core, while the other three should all be ceramic cores. The second one on the left is likely to be the FEELM ceramic core from Microwell.

Microwell is also one of Magic Flute's suppliers, and previously, Magic Flute stated that it had used its self-developed "meta-tech" atomizing core.

Blue Hole speculates that Magic Flute may be comparing the performance of several atomizing cores to select the best for the new generation of products.

Additionally, we can clearly state that this product adopts a new cartridge structure, which may help solve the industry's major problems of oil leakage and burnt cartridges.

If this seemingly app-compatible smart e-cigarette product passes testing, it could very well become Magic Flute's flagship product, but the modification of the cartridge structure means many unknowns, and we currently do not have a timeline for the product launch.

Another topic we are quite concerned about is that the pricing of this complexly designed product will definitely be higher than existing products. Currently, the price of a Magic Flute device with three cartridges is 269 yuan; will this be Magic Flute's product targeting the high-end market?

Blue Hole reported this week that Luo Yonghao's next-generation Xiaoye e-cigarette is likely to be priced at 500-600 yuan; how much will Magic Flute's new product be priced at after its release?

We don't know, and we don't dare to ask. So let's play a guessing game.
