LAMI New Product Review: A Brand That Keeps Delivering Surprises
This article reviews LAMI products based on insights from a well-known e-cigarette media personality, aiming to provide a preliminary understanding of LAMI's various products and flavors. Of course, LAMI's offline stores offer free sampling services for customers, so it's fine to buy after you are satisfied. Why is LAMI considered a brand that continuously delivers surprises? Let's take a look at this e-cigarette media personality's review to find some answers.
1. LAMI Products
1. Pod Mod

The pod mod, commonly referred to as the device or battery stick, has two commendable features: first, it is compatible with the entire series of pods. Although LAMI currently only has two versions of pods (1.5ML and 2.3ML), the compatibility with all products is a great continuity; second, it comes with a storage box that can hold 1 device and 3 pods (2 pods + 1 device), which is sufficient for normal use for a week.
2. Pod Packaging

Many industry insiders advocate for simple packaging to allocate more budget to the product itself. However, LAMI's pod packaging is simply irresistible due to its aesthetic appeal.
The pod box is sealed in a transparent plastic bag, which is commonly used in sets. The condition of the pods is not often seen, and the inner lining and pod tray are exceptionally well-crafted in terms of material and edge seams.
The front of the pod capsule packaging is also well-designed, featuring a combination of logo, flavor, strength, milliliters, and flavor graphics, showing a level of attention to detail that seems almost unnecessary.
Both the top and bottom of the pod have rubber stoppers to prevent oil leakage caused by bumps or changes in air pressure during transport. The color of the plastic block and rubber sleeve at the bottom of the pod matches perfectly, maintaining a consistent visual theme with the pod's outer packaging.
3. Pod Surprise
On the lower half of the pod, there is a small QR code that piqued my curiosity, so I scanned it with WeChat. I expected it to be just for anti-counterfeiting traceability, but it turned out to be a lottery. As someone who often wins prizes, I was not disappointed and won a limited edition LAMI mask. During the redemption process, I opened another door—LAMI's anti-underage program.
The experience process was quite user-friendly; after entering my ID, the facial recognition was very smooth, completing the verification in about 3 seconds. LAMI's anti-underage program is definitely a practice worth learning from in the industry. It is simple but carries significant meaning, ensuring compliance with laws while effectively protecting minors.
2. LAMI Flavors
This time, we received 6 new flavors of LAMI pods: Herbal Original (0/2%), Spring Tea (2%), Osmanthus Cola (3%), Caramel Milk Tea (2%), Grape Ice Mint (2%), and Passion Fruit (2%).
Except for the Herbal Original, we will compare the other flavors with similar flavors from other brands. Of course, flavor is highly subjective, and the evaluation results are for reference only.
1. Herbal Original
LAMI offers this flavor in two versions: 0% and 2%.
On the pod packaging, we see that LAMI's e-liquid is supported by Shennong Tobacco Technology, which is a leader in the field of "herbal liquid extraction" globally. Just to let you know, Shennong Tobacco Technology was awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The herbal flavor can be understood as LAMI's classic base flavor, made from selected natural herbal leaves using extraction technology to ensure a perfect combination of aroma and taste, soothing the throat and refreshing the breath. I specifically checked on Baidu, and "herbal" is not a specific plant name but a category of plants.
The first sensation when inhaling is a slight coolness, and the aroma of leaves can be felt in the exhaled vapor. This feeling transports you to a southern forest in the autumn and winter afternoons, with sunlight on your face, not hot, refreshing, and with a hint of coolness that lingers in the throat for a long time. It truly delivers on the packaging's claim of "real herbal, smooth on the throat."
There is a noticeable difference between the 0% and 2% versions; the nicotine-free version feels more like consuming a herbal throat lozenge, while the 2% nicotine version has a stronger throat hit. After about ten minutes of use, there may be a slight "head rush" feeling.
2. Spring Tea / LAMI vs. Tieguanyin (Niwei)
Spring Tea leans more towards green tea (it feels like I'm insulting someone...), with a gentle tea aroma that retains a slight herbal scent, flowing smoothly in both aroma and taste, while still being easy on the throat.
Tieguanyin is richer, with a higher coolness, and after exhaling, the tea aroma is abundant in the mouth, while inhaling again brings a strong coolness.
Key Point: The biggest difference between the two is that the former leans towards a lighter and more natural green tea, which may appeal more to younger consumers, while the latter is a semi-fermented, stronger tea type, favored by older men. Additionally, Spring Tea does not have excessive mint, resulting in a noticeably lower coolness than Tieguanyin.
3. Osmanthus Cola / LAMI vs. Cola Frenzy / RELX
Osmanthus Cola feels like an improved version of the previous Cola flavor, with a moderate reduction in coolness and a more pronounced cola flavor, enhanced with a hint of osmanthus aroma, evoking nostalgic memories.
Cola Frenzy achieves a basic restoration of cola flavor, with the first puff delivering a familiar taste of carbonated drink. The delicacy of the flavor is acceptable, but the sweetness and coolness are slightly lower. If you ask why low sweetness and low coolness are shortcomings, just look at the sales comparison between sugar-free and regular cola in the supermarket; sugar-free cola lacks soul.
Key Point: The former is somewhat like flavored cola, while the latter is sugar-free cola.
4. Caramel Milk Tea / LAMI vs. Caramel Coconut Milk / Yingzhuo
For a while, flavors like caramel nut tobacco were quite popular, but many people grew tired of the milky flavor after prolonged use, leading to a decline in the caramel trend.
I have tried this Caramel Milk Tea for a long time, and the reason I didn't get tired of it may be due to two factors: the balancing effect of the Herbal Original and the addition of tea flavor in the milk tea, both of which are refreshing substances, resulting in a pleasant experience. The milk tea stimulates the nasal cavity, while the caramel satisfies the taste buds, making it a standout among caramel flavors.
Caramel Coconut Milk is based on tobacco, with a slightly lighter coconut milk flavor added. While it doesn't become overwhelming, it leans too much towards the tobacco taste, with caramel and coconut milk serving as mere embellishments.
Key Point: The former leans towards milk tea aroma, while the latter has a slightly stronger tobacco flavor.
5. Grape Ice Mint / LAMI vs. Juicy Grape / RELX
Grape Ice Mint, with a name that sounds refreshing, makes you want to dig out your down jacket. We know that mint is LAMI's strong suit, having once proclaimed, "How strong is an e-cigarette? Let's compare mint flavors!" Grape Ice Mint adds grape elements to the mint base, achieving over 90% restoration of grape flavor, reminiscent of a certain grape variety, closer to purple grapes, with both the nasal cavity and taste buds feeling the refreshing and tangy sensation of chilled grapes.
Juicy Grape was released after RELX's first generation and was once popular. The name is not exaggerated; it truly feels like drinking Mirinda grape juice, with a slight citrus aroma in the aftertaste, and the coolness is much lower compared to the popular watermelon and mung bean flavors at the time.
Key Point: Both have excellent grape flavor restoration, with the former being cooler.
6. Passion Fruit / LAMI vs. Passion Fruit / Kemi
Passion fruit is actually a relatively niche flavor among fruit-flavored e-liquids, with many brands starting to launch passion fruit flavors since 2019.
LAMI's Passion Fruit has a strong aroma from the moment you open the packaging, with a high level of coolness; Kemi's Passion Fruit also has a very high restoration of the flavor, with a clear distinction between sour and sweet, with the sourness being more pronounced.
There seems to be no significant difference in flavor between the two brands, possibly due to the unique and highly recognizable nature of passion fruit. The slightly higher coolness helps control the sourness; if it were just sour without coolness, it could easily be mistaken for spoiled sourness.
Key Point: Overall, it feels similar to certain freshly squeezed fruit drink brands, leaving a lingering taste without being overwhelming.
If you ask for my personal preference, I prefer LAMI's Spring Tea.
3. LAMI Brand
LAMI's technical support includes Guangdong Wuye Shen Group, Guangdong Shennong Tobacco Technology, and Yunnan Xinhui Ruisheng, all of which are leading enterprises in their respective industries. This ensures that LAMI has no shortcomings in technical research and development, especially in terms of e-liquid flavor.
Moreover, LAMI's innovation and creativity in design deeply impressed us when we first received the product a year ago. I have recommended LAMI products to several peers, praising how well-made they are.
Conclusion
Currently, LAMI's pod capacity is still only 1.5ml and 2.3ml, but based on customer feedback, this amount is completely sufficient. Additionally, LAMI has not only launched more flavors but also introduced the ZERO+ non-combustible heating product, along with nicotine-free pods, which are pure plant-based non-tobacco products.
