Introduction to the Features of the RELX 5th Generation

On December 8, RELX launched its brand-new vaping device, the RELX Phantom. This is also the first new product released by RELX since the launch of Infinity in January this year.
The RELX Phantom features a distinctive 4-level battery indicator light design that displays remaining battery power and charging progress at any time, helping ease users' anxiety about unknown battery levels. At the same time, it delivers technological breakthroughs in charging speed, battery capacity, leak-resistance technology, and material engineering.
It is understood that, as another milestone in RELX's R&D innovation, the RELX Phantom has already filed multiple patent applications, including one for its labyrinth airflow channel design.
RELX Chief Product Officer Chen Chen said that in the early stages of new product development, RELX created a strategy based on user experience data to address key pain points. During the design and R&D process alone, the product team completed 51 design validations and used more than 15,000 pods for reliability and product inhalation testing.
Chen Chen said: We spare no expense and never relax in our ultimate pursuit of a better product experience.
Tidal battery light: clear power control at every moment.
The RELX Phantom is designed with 4 LED power indicator lights on the device body. When the user inhales or inserts a pod into the Phantom device, the indicator lights illuminate in sequence, using a tidal dynamic effect to show the remaining battery level. When the product is charging, the indicator lights also allow users to clearly understand the charging status and how long it has been charging at a glance.
In terms of power, the RELX Phantom uses a Type-C standard input port. Compared with the first-generation RELX product, the new product offers a 9% increase in battery capacity and a 31% improvement in charging efficiency.
This innovative design comes from long-term user insights: How long will the battery last? Will it run out of power when you want to use it? Do you need to bring a charging cable when you go out today? How long does it take to charge? These are common questions in the daily use of vaping devices.
The original purpose of the tidal light design was to focus on solving users' "unknown battery anxiety." Chen Chen said: In user surveys, RELX found that 77.6% of users did not know their remaining battery level when going out, and nearly 50% said sudden power loss was frustrating. Knowing the remaining battery level ranked first among the features users most wanted added.
At the same time, while adding functionality, how could they create the best possible light interaction effect for users? If the lighting effect is too fast, it can feel rushed and anxious; if it is too slow, it can create a psychological impression of sluggishness and unresponsiveness.
In this subtle detail, which many people may not easily notice, the product design team drew on bionic principles based on a human breathing rate of 3 seconds per cycle, matching RELX users' puffing habits. After 23 rounds of software iteration and optimization, the final power light adopted a rhythmic cycle of 1.4 seconds per round. The smooth and comfortable tidal light effect gives the RELX Phantom a strong sense of technology during both use and charging.
