Eleaf iStick AVP-CUBE Refillable Vaping Device Review

Today, I bring you the third product from Eleaf's AVP series—the AVP-CUBE. I have previously tried Eleaf's Nautilus, which is a decent device.

This model is actually the third generation of the AVP series. The first generation was very popular, resembling a car key, and felt good in hand. However, I personally found a significant issue with the first generation: it was overly sweet, regardless of the e-liquid used.

The second generation improved the sweetness significantly, but it had a problem with large vapor particles, leading to oil splattering. Overall, I think both previous generations had considerable issues, so now let's see how the third generation performs.

Introduction and Operation

The packaging is a simple box, containing the main device *1, pod *1, one each of 0.65 ohm and 1.15 ohm coils, a Type-C charging cable, and a manual. There are seven colors available. The body is made of metal with a matte finish, giving it a premium feel. I think all seven colors look great.

The front of the device has a button, with a logo below it. Pressing the button five times turns it on and off. The only thing I find a bit inconvenient is the lack of an air switch, so you can only activate it by pressing the button. This device is primarily designed for export, so it doesn't cater to domestic usage habits. Personally, I prefer devices with an air switch. Pressing the button twice allows you to adjust the wattage: red light is 10W, blue light is 12W, green light is 14W, and white light is 16W. This wattage adjustment function is mainly for the 1.15 ohm coil; if you use the 0.65 ohm coil, it will automatically lock the wattage.

The airflow can be adjusted as the device has three air intake holes on the top, with two, four, and eight holes respectively. The pod has a notch that aligns with different hole positions to achieve different airflow resistance, allowing you to choose according to your preference.

The side of the device has a charging port, and its battery capacity is 1300mAh, so you don't have to worry about battery life. The pod compartment has a strong magnetic connection and a capacity of 3.5ml, which is quite large. The mouthpiece can be replaced with a compatible 510 mouthpiece, making it easy to clean, although the original mouthpiece is already quite good.

Personal Experience

This device has a noticeably better flavor than the first and second generations. The e-liquid reproduction is quite good, resolving the overly sweet issue of the first generation and the large vapor particle issue of the second generation. The sweetness and coolness are moderate, and both vapor volume and flavor intensity can be adjusted through different wattages, which you can experiment with.

Personal Summary

It is important to note that using high wattage continuously can easily lead to burnt hits, so I recommend using 10W or 12W for daily use. Additionally, condensation will definitely occur, which is normal; just clean it up promptly. Overall, the appearance is very premium, and I personally like this matte metal material. There are many colors to choose from, and it feels comfortable in hand. The battery capacity and pod capacity are both very large, making it reassuring to use. Moreover, it has resolved the issues of the first and second generations, and the flavor and reproduction are quite good. Aside from the lack of an air switch, which I am not too accustomed to, everything else is quite good. If you're interested, you can give this device a try.
