Oregon was one of the few states that did not restrict the sale of e-cigarettes to minors. A vote in the Oregon House on Monday changed that.
E-cigarettes produce vapor, which is commonly referred to as vaping. The bill banning the sale of e-cigarettes to children also prohibits vaping in most indoor public places. That includes stores where these products are sold.
That left some lawmakers, such as Sherrie Sprenger, puzzled. “There was an amendment that would have allowed people to vape in vape shops,” she said. “Why not? I’ll leave you with that question. Why not allow vaping in vape shops?” Still, despite her reservations, she joined nearly every other lawmaker in passing the bill, which now goes to the Oregon Senate.
