Ace of Spades Mechanical Mod Review: A Different Firing Structure

As China’s vaping market continues to develop rapidly, new teams and companies are constantly emerging, and product quality varies widely. However, many excellent products have gained attention, while inferior ones are naturally eliminated. Smaller teams

With the rapid development of the domestic e-cigarette market, new groups and companies are emerging one after another, with products of varying quality. However, most excellent products have gained some attention, while inferior ones have naturally been eliminated.

The operating model of these groups is more flexible and free compared to large e-cigarette brands, with more divergent thinking. Therefore, many highly creative devices are created by these groups.     The protagonist of this review is the Ace of Spades mechanical mod, co-produced by the LuKou group and A MOD. This product is innovative in both packaging design and body design.     PS: The sample in hand is still a testing version, and the actual retail version will differ.     Ace of Spades Ace of Spades Mechanical Mod Review: A Different Firing Structure     Packaging     The bottom of the packaging is designed in the shape of a trapezoidal display box, with a transparent acrylic cover turning the entire packaging into a sealed display box (when not in use, the device can be placed inside to isolate air and prevent oxidation).     The front acrylic cover is printed with the logos of LuKou group and A MOD, secured at both ends with stickers on the box body.     The bottom of the packaging box features the manufacturer's logo, accessory list, and warning information as standard printed labels. (Configuration: body *1, spare spring *1)     Ace of Spades     Appearance and Details     Looking at the appearance alone, one can see that this mod has a unique structure and design. We won't discuss the structure just yet; let's first look at the design.     First, you will be attracted by its distinctive design features. This mechanical mod has two design languages: one is the Ace of Spades in its name, and the other is the ring design (somewhat reminiscent of the early meteorite mods).     However, this ring is not just a decorative item; it serves a very important function, but we'll discuss that later.     The entire body is not on the same plane, with multiple waist designs. The slope surface is greater than the vertical plane, greatly enhancing the grip feel, making it more stable and comfortable. The widest diameter is 25.7mm, the middle value is 24.2mm, and the smallest diameter is 23.4mm.     The mod adopts an unconventional three-section structure, allowing the 510 top cap to be detachable while also featuring a battery adaptive switch. The top has an etched A MOD logo, which not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also reduces friction on the top surface, decreasing the likelihood of the atomizer getting stuck.     The bottom features four etched patterns shaped like the Ace of Spades, composed of letters from SRADE ACE MOD and LCO VAPE, which enhance the mod's aesthetics while also increasing friction, making it less likely to slip from the grip.     The ring-shaped structure's face (the embedded or viewing side of the ring) is shaped like an Ace of Spades playing card, with the skull logo of the LuKou group replacing the original spade image in the center, while the ring part is printed with the A MOD logo, continuously emphasizing the design elements of the Ace of Spades, which is clearly an enhancement to the overall aesthetic appeal.     The bottom of the firing switch continues the etched pattern from the top, but the upper part is embossed while the switch's surface is recessed, creating a complementary visual effect. The product number is located just below the firing button.     The bottom of the firing switch is etched with the LuKou group's locomotive logo.     Since this is a testing version, the etched parts of the body do not have rounded corners, and rubbing with fingers may cause slight discomfort, but the grip feel is similar to that of knurled patterns.     One more point to mention is that due to many etched gaps being small, they can easily accumulate dirt, so it's recommended to use a plastic brush for cleaning (like a toothbrush).     Ace of Spades     Structure     The only part of the mod that can be disassembled without tools is the 510 top cap. The body switch and firing button are locked by internal electrode contacts, and to disassemble the body, one must first unscrew the bottom contact screw.     After complete disassembly, it can be divided into six parts: 510 adaptive top cap, main body, ring-shaped firing switch lock ring, bottom firing button, negative pole, and firing button rebound spring.     First, let's look at the 510 adaptive top cap. This through-type structure can adapt to the 510 interface length of all atomizers, but the operation of installing the atomizer can be a bit tricky; you need to install the atomizer on the top cap first, then screw it into the body to ensure a good battery fit and contact.     The internal processing of the top cap is also very well done, not using a conventional stepped processing method, but achieving full insulation through an insulating pad, ensuring that even if the battery top is damaged, it will not cause a short circuit with the body wall.     The inner wall of the body is relatively rough, and the workmanship still needs improvement. I hope the final version can address this issue. The bottom has four 2.4mm pressure relief holes, and an insulating ring is placed at the electrode connection hole to ensure insulation at the battery bottom. The pole contact is lower than the insulating ring, so when the negative pole is tightened, it will not touch the battery bottom at all.     The lower half of the body, after removing the lock ring and bottom switch, reveals the lock ring thread and switch limit slot, with very good workmanship details, providing no sense of blockage during use (the manufacturer has also applied lubricant here, so be careful not to touch it).     The bottom features a recessed design, which is to better accommodate the bottom spring, reducing the stiffness brought by the spring and ensuring a smooth firing operation experience.     The ring-shaped firing switch lock ring is installed via threads on the body, and when turned to the top, it is in the open state, allowing the bottom firing switch to function normally. When turned to the bottom, it enters the lock state, and the switch travel is locked by the lock ring, effectively closing it. The flat raised part not only increases torque to prevent locking but also effectively prevents the mod from rolling around when placed on its side.     The firing button is wide, with a locking groove on each side, corresponding to the limit slot on the body, ensuring smoothness during the switch's extension and preventing rotation, making it easier to install the negative pole while also increasing the contact area with the body, almost eliminating the chance of the firing button not working after pressing it.     The contact area of the negative pole reaches an 8mm diameter, with a 6*1.5mm slot on the top for removing the negative pole to disassemble the body (it can be removed using the end of tweezers without needing additional tools).     Next is the limit ring, used to fix the position of the negative pole within the body. The extended pole has an 8mm diameter and a length of 12mm, followed by a 6mm diameter threaded connection structure, providing a robust negative pole that offers excellent conductivity.     The spring still uses the dual-diameter spring characteristic of the LuKou group, providing more stable connection, and both elasticity and tactile feedback are quite comfortable, significantly enhancing the firing button experience.     #p#分页标题#e#Ace of Spades Mechanical Mod Review: A Different Firing Structure     Operational Performance     The ring-shaped locking switch, while providing stability and safety, also brings some issues. For example, during actual use, it may feel a bit uncomfortable, requiring the ring face to be positioned towards the thumb or the side of the grip for a better holding feel and user experience.     (Left image shows the firing button activated, right image shows the firing button locked)     However, this flat bottom firing switch design has always been favored by the zipper, as it provides a good firing experience regardless of the grip style (you don't always have to use a single-finger zen grip). The unique spring design greatly enhances the firing experience as well.     PS: This structure poses safety issues for mechanical mods without switch locks, so it's best to remove the battery when not in use.     The large bottom firing switch and pole also effectively prevent overheating issues with the bottom switch.     The performance of this mechanical mod is commendable. The excellent T2 copper material combined with a sufficiently robust body and electrode pole provides good conductivity. However, due to the lack of relevant resistance measuring instruments, the detailed internal resistance cannot be determined, but we can observe its explosive comparison with other mods.     (Similarly using universal data, fully charged battery output, performance as shown)     In actual use, the overall performance is quite pleasing, but this testing sample has shown an issue with overly sharp edges around the etched patterns, and if an insulating sleeve could be added for internal safety, it would be even better.     Ace of Spades     Conclusion     As for the official description of this mod (which sounds quite impressive), we won't mention it (probably not many people believe it). In short, the most important thing about using a mod is that you like it (it should be flashy enough), and genuine mods require faith.     This Ace of Spades mechanical mod has indeed performed quite well in terms of safety, and the choice of copper material is also relatively special, with a slow oxidation rate, meaning that oxidation and patina are more controllable. Performance-wise, there is no need to worry; it indeed possesses excellent conductivity, and operation is very easy (except for disassembling the body).     Priced at 1380 yuan, although it has decreased compared to the previous track mechanical mod from the LuKou group, this price is still relatively high among domestic mechanical mods, so whether to purchase depends entirely on your personal preference.     With the further development of complex heating wires in e-cigarettes and players' pursuit of vapor volume, the resistance of coils is getting lower. Therefore, regardless of how safe the mechanical mod is, the requirements for batteries are also increasing.     So, please choose reliable high-rate power batteries produced by reputable international manufacturers to ensure your personal safety.     Friendly reminder: Since everyone's experience is different, this article only represents the author's personal views and is for reference only!     Copyright statement: This article is sourced from "Eternal Zipper".
