Review of BK's new jasmine Tieguanyin and cola e-liquid flavors

Today’s featured products are BK e-liquids. I picked up two flavors from a vape specialty store: Jasmine Tieguanyin and Ice Cola.
Back in 2016, the market was still flooded with many domestically made tobacco-flavored e-liquids inspired by brands like Yuxi, Huanghelou, and Zhonghua.
Those really were unforgettable tears. But one day, a friend gave me a red aluminum bottle. It looked completely different from the plastic bottle packaging that was common on the market at the time, and it felt very premium.
It was a 30ml coffee flavor. It tasted especially rich and mellow, completely different from the e-liquids commonly available at the time. That was when I first noticed the BK brand. As more and more e-liquids entered the market, BK gradually faded from view. I didn’t expect BK to make a comeback this time with an upgraded lineup and new flavors.
Appearance
Jasmine Tieguanyin comes in a blue frosted glass bottle. The light blue color, along with the prominent BK logo and “since 2009” in the center, highlights its history. Below the logo is a white jasmine branch design. Overall, the packaging looks elegant and understated. On the back are warning labels and a website address. When I entered the site, it opened an English-language website featuring atomizers, coils, and various e-liquids, but for some reason I couldn’t find the two flavors reviewed this time.
From the side label, you can see that it is the Jasmine Tieguanyin flavor, with a nicotine strength of 3mg, and an expiration date of October 2019.
Testing setup
The mod was a second-hand R150 purchased from someone on a forum. The atomizer was a Merlin Mini recommended by a fellow user, built with dual fancy coils at 0.25 ohms.
Tasting experience
Smell: Even through the bottle, you can catch a light jasmine aroma, while the Tieguanyin note is not immediately noticeable.
After opening it, it is still mainly jasmine, with a strong sweetness.
Appearance: In terms of viscosity, the e-liquid is medium-bodied. Although the VG/PG ratio is not marked,
judging by the dripping speed, it should be no lower than 70/30.
Inhale: It feels very smooth on the inhale, with a strong jasmine flavor, while the Tieguanyin note does not really come through. Also, this is not the light, delicate type of jasmine flavor, but a rather heavy jasmine profile. Personally, I also detect a slight milky note, which makes it feel somewhat rich and sweet. After finishing one tank, it started to feel just a little cloying. The jasmine flavor is especially fragrant, but it is not the sharp, aggressive kind of floral scent like an air freshener. Instead, it is smooth, mellow, and sweet.
Cola flavor

Smell: Even before opening the package, there was already a very strong cola aroma, just like smelling a glass of Coca-Cola.
Appearance: The e-liquid has a slightly yellow tint, and its viscosity also seems to be at least 70/30.
Inhale: The cola flavor is very clear, but it lacks that fizzy sensation. It is not overly sweet, and the reproduced flavor is more like cola candy. When I switched to a box mod and pushed it at higher wattage, the cola flavor still did not become much more pronounced. Strangely, it smells very much like cola candy, but when vaped, the cola taste becomes much lighter. Maybe that’s just a characteristic of cola-flavored e-liquids: they can imitate the aroma quite well, but the fizzy, nose-tingling sensation of real cola is impossible to replicate.
Conclusion
As a long-established e-liquid brand, BK has launched quite a few flavors this time. Its packaging also has a distinctive style of its own. Unlike the pen-style packaging commonly used for many domestic e-liquids today, BK still uses a more traditional combination of glass and aluminum bottles with a bent dropper design. However, instead of the old 30ml size, it has now adopted a larger 50ml capacity. There are more and more e-liquid brands on the market now, and flavor profiles are becoming increasingly similar. In my opinion, if a product can present its intended flavor in a pure and authentic way, then it has already succeeded. These two BK e-liquids achieve exactly that in terms of flavor.
