Kanger NABOO KIT Dual-Battery Mod Review: 2018 was defined as the year of pod systems. Kanger not only launched its own pod devices but also introduced the latest dual-battery mod for cloud chasers - the Kanger NABOO, and this time we are sharing the Kanger NABOO KIT set.
—Packaging—
The packaging features a black hard cardboard box with a plastic seal that has been removed.
The front displays an image of the NABOO KIT, with a color label on the top right corner, and the website printed on the bottom of the box.
The back contains product-related information in English, with an anti-counterfeiting query sticker on the bottom right corner.
Opening the box reveals two layers; the top layer contains protective foam for the mod and atomizer along with atomizer accessories.
The bottom layer includes a list of other products, one manual for the mod and atomizer each, a product qualification certificate, and an after-sales service card.
It also includes a battery safety reminder card, a spare atomizer coil, and a charging data cable.
—NABOO Mod—
Compared to previously launched products, the NABOO is designed to be more rounded, with a curved design on all four sides.
The octagonal mod features recessed triangular designs, making it very comfortable to hold.
The front has a 2.4-inch color screen, with two hidden adjustment buttons at the bottom (which will be mentioned later).
On the left side, there is a large fire button, and below it, a small linear button serves as the unlock button.
On the right side, there is a charging and data transfer port.
The back features a battery cover embedded with a gradient colorful pattern and the NABOO logo at the bottom.
The top has a 510 connector that is about 21MM wide, slightly protruding from the body.
The connector has spiral grooves to prevent the atomizer from getting stuck and scratching the mod.
The bottom has heat dissipation holes and sound collection holes, with CE and trash can icons printed.
The bottom has a bar-shaped groove for easy removal of the battery cover.
Opening the battery cover reveals the battery slots marked with the positive and negative installation directions.
There are six heat dissipation holes above the battery slots.
The top has two round strong magnets, and the bottom has a bar-shaped strong magnet.
The inside of the battery cover is lined with insulating material to prevent accidental battery incidents.
—Chip and Operation—
The chip is Kanger's self-developed 225W chip, supporting a variety of modes, and the interface still uses a two-level menu.
It supports a maximum output of 225W, with protective features still in place.
I won't elaborate too much on the detailed operations, as they are all in the manual; let’s briefly discuss the operational features of the NABOO.
After a period of improvements, a new unlock button has been designed on the mod.
Pressing the unlock adjustment buttons will keep them lit after unlocking.
When locked, the lights do not illuminate, and adjustments cannot be made, effectively preventing accidental touches.
Long pressing will put the entire screen into power-saving black screen mode, and long pressing will unlock it.
Here, I would suggest the manufacturer to design the unlock button to also include the fire button unlock function.
Such convenient operation would be friendlier if it included the fire button unlock method to prevent accidental firing when placed in pockets or bags.
Due to the hidden touch method of the adjustment buttons, the chip also adds a vibration feedback feature.
After entering the secondary menu, the bottom option is to adjust the vibration feedback, which can be turned on or off.
The vibration feedback feels very clear and comfortable.
The right image also shows the new music dynamic mode added to the chip; enter the Menu option, go to the Setting interface, and select the Display option #p#分页标题#e#
Select the Music Mode option, long press the fire button to gradually exit to the main interface, and you can see the dynamic mode in the image below.
The screen and adjustment buttons will automatically provide sound dynamic lighting and visuals based on the sounds collected by the bottom microphone.
This is truly a tool for showing off in nightclubs, but it does not play music from the mod.
So when placing the mod, be careful about the position to avoid water entering.
—Sub-ohm Tank Atomizer—
Now let’s discuss the atomizer included in the kit.
The overall appearance is quite good, with a matte spray finish, and the top cap features horizontal and vertical grooves, while the airflow ring has diagonal grooves to increase friction.
There are two glass tank options, with the 810 drip tip using the currently popular honeycomb pattern.
The coil size is fairly standard for a sub-ohm cloud coil, with four opposing airflow holes at the bottom.
The oil guide holes are very large, with four large triangular oil guide holes, so there is no need to worry about oil flow issues.
The pre-installed coil is a large cloud-type mesh coil with a resistance of 0.17, recommended for use at 60-100W.
The right image shows the spare mesh coil with a resistance of 0.18, recommended for use at 40-80W.
This deserves praise, as many manufacturers provide only a single mesh coil for their sub-ohm atomizers.
Another coil is usually a standard wire coil; Kanger generously provides players with a mesh coil experience.
Overall, the vapor production is quite impressive, and for players who enjoy making clouds but do not want to deal with coils, using this pre-made option is also a good choice.
