ADVKEN Dominator Tank Review
This was a great bonus from VapeAsiaTour, and hopefully the expo continues to grow and bring more benefits to enthusiasts. ADVKEN has built a strong reputation in the tank segment, with several hit products. For example, the earlier CP RTA became popular
VapeAsiaTour has sent us a wonderful gift this time, hoping that the exhibition will become more and more exciting, bringing more benefits to players. The ADVKEN brand seems to have a hit product in every oil storage atomizer, such as the earlier released CP RTA, which became a beloved product among players due to its use of a single coil and the convenience of the elastic pressure plate electrode; later, the MANTA TRA also became a star product among dual-coil oil storage products due to its practical concept and eye-catching appearance. Today, ADVKEN brings us a new product that can use both pre-made coils and DIY coils - the DOMINATOR.
Back to the point, the gift we received this time is the ADVKEN DOMINATOR atomizer, which can switch between pre-made and DIY modes. I will first talk about the pre-made experience, hoping to give everyone some suggestions. The atomizer body includes a 0.16-ohm quad coil pre-made coil, a DIY coil, a screwdriver, a parts bag, wire, cotton, and a replacement glass tank; To my surprise, it even comes with an oil cloth, which is quite rare. First, I will try the pre-made coil, and that large pre-made coil reminds me of something... Yes, the Big Baby atomizer; I can only guess that the two manufacturers must have collaborated.
On the left is the DOMINATOR in pre-made mode, and on the right is the Big Baby; the sizes of the two atomizers are basically comparable.
In terms of appearance, the Big Baby has a stronger muscular feel, while the DOMINATOR is more restrained, with a more coordinated black and PEI drip tip.
In terms of airflow, the DOMINATOR is relatively smaller, which can visually provide a richer flavor performance.
The drip tip of the DOMINATOR is smaller, and the effect of smoke concentration is more pronounced, which can further enhance the richness of the flavor.
The biggest difference between the two atomizers is that the DOMINATOR has a DIY function, and the refilling method is different.
The DOMINATOR uses a push mechanism, while the Big Baby uses a twist mechanism; the DOMINATOR's travel is shorter and saves more space, but there is a downside.
When using a 60ml e-liquid dropper to refill, it's best to have some paper towels handy.
I did not use the original pre-made coil; instead, I whimsically used a T8 pre-made coil from the Big Baby with similar specifications.
Let's compare the two pre-made coils.
From the images, it can be seen that the two coils are basically identical, both quad coils, 0.15 ohms, and the recommended wattage is also 60-80 watts.
Installing the Big Baby T8 coil into the DOMINATOR, the pre-made coil fits perfectly with the atomizer, with smooth airflow and no leaking.
In terms of flavor, overall, the DOMINATOR's vapor production is not as large as that of the Big Baby under the same specifications, possibly due to the smaller airflow and drip tip.
The draw resistance is more pronounced, and the flavor is indeed richer than expected, with clearer layers; the flavor can be said to have improved significantly.
The Big Baby is relatively more blurred in comparison; one could say that the DOMINATOR's pre-made mode is an improved version of the Big Baby, and it also adds a DIY mode, highlighting its cost-effectiveness, especially suitable for beginners looking to advance to DIY.
Finally, let's look at the appearance of the atomizer's packaging.
Once again, thanks to VapeAsiaTour and ADVKEN.
