Holding not just an electronic cigarette, but also a dream! Perhaps the recent popularity of "battle royale" games has inspired the designers at SMOANT, as the SMOANT electronic cigarette brand is set to launch a new pressure-regulating device called the RANKER Rifle Stock. The sample for this review is a pure black engineering version, while the officially released product will also have camouflage color options available.

In fact, there have been several electronic cigarette pressure-regulating devices on the market that incorporate a "rifle stock" design element. Let's take a closer look at what highlights the newly launched RANKER Rifle Stock has compared to previous products.
The all-black RANKER device closely resembles the overall contour of a rifle stock, with a slanted design at the top that makes it look like it connects to the gun body.
RANKER also features the same leather wrap as the Serpent device, enhancing the device's texture while providing users with a more comfortable grip.
A large color screen seems to have become a standard feature for new pressure-regulating devices. The RANKER's large screen blends seamlessly with the device when turned off, showcasing a certain aesthetic of a dormant screen.
Klein Peng is a big brand, so much so that there is a saying of "street vendor Peng". The subject of this review is the RANKER TC 218 device from SMOANT, which translates to "warrior" or "active soldier" in Chinese.
Currently, the Chinese Klein Peng official website features this brand, but this product is not yet available.
Let's start with a demonstration of the "sporting pointer". When I bought my second car, there were no guides on the forums for the hidden functions of my model's onboard computer. I looked at the guide for the previous model, and after some trial and error with a notebook and a 5053 cable, the first thing I managed to do was this sporting pointer, which is a self-check action where the speed pointer on the dashboard quickly jumps to the maximum and then returns to the starting point. Later, I wrote a comprehensive guide on how to unlock hidden features for my model.
Now, let's move on to the overall conclusion:
This device has a rugged design, comfortable grip, large buttons, easy operation, comprehensive protection, rapid ignition, sustained power, diverse gameplay, and multiple modes, making it a very creative and fun device. This is a device for tough, rugged men, and it can also appeal to women. Holding it in your hand, you are not just holding an electronic cigarette, but also your dreams and your loved ones.
Smoant Ranker Rifle Stock Box Mod Review      For those short on time, you can read the conclusion and move on to other things. Below, we will continue discussing how to hold your loved ones and how to get your girlfriend to accept that you always have an electronic cigarette, and how fast it ignites...
    1. Packaging
The black box is quite deep, making it a bit difficult to open; it took me a while to get it open. The front features an image of the product and the brand name, with a small round sticker in the upper right corner indicating that the device is BLACK. There is also a version with a hint of brown, which seems more attractive.
The back of the box lists the contents, QR code, barcode, etc. The label sealing the box reads "Sample for Test Only."
Inside the package, there are the following items: one device, one product certificate, one battery warning card, one after-sales service card, a multilingual manual including Chinese, and a mini USB data cable.
  2. Manual
The manual consists of Chinese, English, and several other languages I don't recognize, with concise content that gives a general understanding after reading.
The manual does not mention the operation guide for connecting to a computer. The protection types include: reverse battery protection, overheat protection, low voltage protection, short circuit/overcurrent protection, and overuse protection.
  3. Product Showcase
The shape resembles a rifle stock, or rather a gun handle, which is very masculine, isn't it? When I was younger, I played with real guns (of course, legally), and every boy dreams of playing with real guns, right? Holding it feels like gripping a gun handle. The ignition button is the largest I've seen among devices; please note that above the edge of the ignition button, the device has an extension that prevents dust and debris from entering. Opposite the ignition button is the leather-wrapped part, which feels like a flexible material, giving it a high-end feel and making it more comfortable to hold.
The battery compartment has positive and negative markings on the bottom cover.
The top features a 510 connector with an anti-lock groove.
This device uses two 18650 batteries, which allows for unlimited battery life due to replaceable batteries.
  4. User Experience
After installing the batteries and attaching the included atomizer, the Smoant Battlestar Sun-Ohm Tank, I filled it with my favorite mango ice 888 and set it to 50 watts.
The ignition is very quick, producing a decent amount of vapor with excellent flavor. I accidentally finished a tank of e-liquid. Just how fast does the Ranker ignite? I wanted to test it, so I took out my most frequently used sub-ohm device, swapped both devices for dripping atomizers, with the RANKER set to 0.15 ohms and 218W, and the sub-ohm device set to 0.18 ohms and 157W. I ignited both simultaneously, using my Huawei Mate 9's burst mode to capture 16 frames per second, and the results are shown below.
All the images were taken within the same second, with image 3 showing no vapor, while image 4 shows slight vapor. The following image is the original of image 4, where both atomizers produced slight vapor simultaneously, indicating that the ignition was nearly simultaneous. As seen in the image, the RANKER clearly has a more powerful burst. Of course, this also relates to the maximum power and coil resistance.
The overall feel of the device is good, and it gives a subconscious feeling of holding a gun. The ignition is different from others; you don't have to strain your thumb to press it; just closing your palm ignites it. When holding with the right hand, the power comes mainly from the thumb, while holding with the left hand relies on the four fingers, and you don't need much force to ignite it.
In power mode, there are three sub-modes: min, norm, and max, which I tested, and the main difference is in the burst.
I also tested the temperature control mode using stainless steel and titanium wire. The atomizer with stainless steel was a Typhoon GT3, and it didn't perform well in stainless steel mode. After locking the resistance and testing with e-liquid, I burned the cotton twice. However, I suspect my stainless steel wire might be faulty, as it is from UD, but if temperature control doesn't work well, it may not be the device's fault.
The atomizer with titanium wire was a Freedom, and after locking the resistance, it performed well throughout the tank of 888, producing rich vapor and great flavor. However, this atomizer is too short and fat, and even with dual coils, the top cap gets hot, and I accidentally burned my lips. If this continues, it might affect my daily kissing activities. I just wanted to use it for temperature control, and now I've found the perfect way to use it.
The display is a 1.3-inch color screen, which is considered large among current displays, but I believe that in the future, all screens will need to become full-screen. Just wait and see. There are two UI display modes: one mimics a car dashboard, and the other is a wallpaper display with digital readouts.
  5. Connecting to a Computer
The manual does not provide instructions for connecting to a computer. I found the software for the RANKER on the SMOANT English website, downloaded it, and the interface is as follows:
Using the included mini USB cable, connect the electronic cigarette to the computer, and once the device is recognized, you can make some settings, such as syncing the time in the device information section.
You can also choose between clock screensaver or background image screensaver.
The software comes with 9 background images.
You can create your favorite person's background image using Photoshop, with a resolution based on the provided backgrounds, which is 300.125ppi, and the large image size is 240X240. You also need to create a smaller image with the same PPI, sized 64X64.
I named the image I created bg01.bmp, replacing the software's default image 1.
After selecting background 1, the device displays a large-eyed beauty looking at you.
For privacy reasons, I didn't upload my family photos; instead, I used a downloaded photo of a beauty I admire as an example. By the way, this beauty seems to have gained some weight recently. I think this feature is impressive; for example, if you make your girlfriend's photo the background, every time you pick up the electronic cigarette, it feels like you're holding onto your girlfriend tightly. If she urges you to put down the electronic cigarette, you can confidently say, "I will never let you go!" and you might just keep vaping away.
  6. Highlights of the Summary
  1. The shape resembles a gun handle, providing a comfortable grip that satisfies a boy's dream of holding a gun, with good material quality.
  2. The large ignition button saves your thumb, which is a unique feature.
  3. The ignition is quick, rivaling sub-ohm devices, with sustained power output.
  4. Two UI displays allow for some fun variations.
  5. The background screensaver can be customized, such as with a girlfriend's photo, showcasing personality.
  6. Comprehensive protection types ensure worry-free use.
  7. Supports use while charging, greatly enhancing battery life.
  7. Drawbacks Summary
  1. Temperature control mode needs improvement; stainless steel wire often burns cotton, but it might be a wire issue.
  2. The manual lacks a link for downloading the computer software.
  3. The content that can be set on the computer is limited; for example, the curve mode cannot be set via computer.
  4. There is a gap between the ignition button edge and the body; although the design has a dust cover, I still worry that over time, debris may affect ignition.
  5. Perhaps to save power, the screen is a bit dim.
  8. My Feelings
Time flies; in just a couple of days, I've used this device with various atomizers to vape over 40ml of e-liquid, so I feel I have some say in this. I really like this device, and I've changed its screensaver to a photo of my favorite person—my child (la la la, the child's mother has no choice). I promised not to exaggerate or criticize; I've mentioned the pros and cons, but it doesn't stop me from loving this very masculine, stylish, and unique device. I think it will be my go-to device for a long time.
