The Nautilus by Aspire is undoubtedly a milestone product in the domestic e-cigarette atomizer market, and at the time, it was a must-have for every player. With the changing market and the increasing variety of products, derivative products developed based on the Nautilus, such as the Nautilus Mini and X series, have also achieved good results. However, in the "modern era," the Nautilus 2 has been released, but it is unclear whether it was released at the wrong time or if there are too many choices in the market, leading to its sales being far less than its predecessors.

However, with the rise of pod systems and the popularity of nicotine salt e-liquids, Aspire has recently launched the Nautilus 2S atomizer, which is clearly an upgraded version of the second generation. In addition to being sold separately, it is also included in the Zelos 2.0 kit that we will review today.

The accessories are mostly standard, but it does come with an extra short drip tip.

The main device in this 2.0 kit has not changed; the bare device weighs 120g and has dimensions of 79*23*23 (mm), making it lightweight and comfortable to hold. The built-in 2500mAh battery, while "only" outputting 50W, can easily last for 2 days even with frequent use when paired with the Nautilus 2S.

To enter the menu function, simply press and hold the two adjustment buttons. Once in each mode, you can easily adjust it using simple key combinations. Additionally, the screen display orientation automatically changes based on how you hold it, which is a nice touch.

For other operations, please refer to the manual.

First, from the appearance, it does not differ much from the second generation version, still featuring an outer shell + inner glass tank design. The most noticeable difference is that the hollow areas on both sides are larger, making it easier to check the remaining e-liquid, and its diameter has slightly increased to 23mm.

The above two images clearly show the differences from the second generation, as well as the styles with both drip tips installed. From a personal perspective, the overall feel is better when matched with the longer drip tip.

The top-fill feature has now become standard for most atomizers, but the Nautilus 2 requires removing the entire outer shell to refill, which is somewhat clumsy. However, the 2S version has completely optimized this aspect, adopting a side-push method for opening the fill port. Users simply need to loosen the top cap and gently push towards the pointed side to open the fill hole.

The improvements to the base are reflected in the airflow; it has replaced the original uneven airflow holes with five holes of the same size on one side and an open airflow on the other side, corresponding to the single airflow hole on the adjustment ring, allowing for easy adjustment between mouth-to-lung and direct lung hits.

After discussing some structural changes, the biggest selling point of the Nautilus 2S is still the NS coil, which is said to be specifically designed for nicotine salt e-liquids. According to rumors, the release of the 2S version was delayed due to this coil, indicating the brand's dedication to it. (The image above shows the separately sold coil.)

Although this coil is specifically designed for nicotine salt e-liquids, with a resistance of 1.8Ω and a recommended power of 10-12W, it still belongs to the traditional BVC coil of the Nautilus series, and there are not many noticeable changes.

The differences are twofold: first, the inhalation feel is significantly better than the old Nautilus's 1.6/1.8Ω coils, with the vapor particles being finer, resulting in a smoother flavor; second, when paired with nicotine salt e-liquids, it can mitigate some of the "throat hit," allowing the true flavor of the e-liquid to shine through. Objectively speaking, it also surpasses most DIY-style mouth-to-lung atomizers, regardless of the data used. This conclusion also applies to regular nicotine e-liquids. If you are unsure about this statement, I suggest purchasing the old coil for comparison before making a decision.

In conclusion, focusing on the Nautilus 2S, its structural upgrades have significantly enhanced the experience, and the changes in the coil provide a clear advantage over many mouth-to-lung atomizers. The phrase "you are still you" fits this atomizer perfectly.
