Hunan Tobacco Delivers Strong Results in Innovation Drive

On September 23, during the National Science Popularization Day main event in Hunan, it was reported that the Hunan tobacco industry is vigorously promoting technological innovation, achieving breakthrough progress in the research and development of new tobacco products (including e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, and oral tobacco), with 187 patents applied for in recent years, including 75 invention patents.

The theme of the 2016 National Science Popularization Day was "Innovation Fuels Dreams, Technology Leads the Future," and it was held nationwide from September 17 to 23. During the National Science Popularization Day activities, the Hunan Tobacco Society held an experience exchange meeting on implementing the "Five Development Concepts" and carrying out the "Innovation Leading Action," showcasing the technological innovation achievements of the Hunan tobacco industry, discussing and exploring ideas, approaches, methods, and measures for technological innovation, and sharing work experiences.

It is understood that despite lacking local consumption structure advantages, Hunan tobacco has developed into a leading player in the national tobacco industry largely due to its technological advantages.

In recent years, the Hunan tobacco industry has focused on product innovation as a breakthrough, vigorously promoting technological innovation, and has successively developed new cigarette products such as "Soft and World," "Slim and World," "Furong Wang (Blue Flash)," and "Slim Every Day Up." At the same time, breakthrough progress has been made in the research and development of new tobacco products (including e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, and oral tobacco), with 187 patents applied for, including 75 invention patents. Hunan Zhongyan leads brand development with "Chunhe Xiangyan, Chunhe World," and as of last year, "He Tianxia" has ranked first in national high-priced cigarette production and sales for four consecutive years, while "Furong Wang" has maintained the top position in national first-class cigarette production and sales for nine consecutive years. It is expected that this year, "He Tianxia" and "Furong Wang" will continue to maintain their leading advantages in national high-priced and first-class cigarettes.
