4th Generation IQOS 3.0 — The Heated Tobacco Device That Made Me Love It
IQOS's update speed is not particularly fast; consumers often wait eagerly for a new generation to be released. However, what’s challenging is that each new product launch from IQOS brings significant surprises. For instance, the recently launched fourth-generation IQOS 3.0 has made new attempts in various aspects, and even as a habitual user of IQOS electronic cigarettes, I must say this has been another unexpected experience.
One unexpected change is in the appearance. The two previous generations of IQOS electronic cigarettes I used had smooth shell materials that felt cool and slightly slippery. However, this new product features a matte finish that fits comfortably in the hand and looks much more high-end (though I always thought the previous IQOS designs were already quite premium; it turns out I underestimated its potential...). However, the change in shell material is not the most critical aspect; what I appreciate more is the alteration in the shape and performance of the heater.
The previous heater resembled a mobile power bank, with a charging method similar to that of a phone, featuring a USB port at one end. However, the fourth-generation IQOS 3.0 has moved the port to the side, creating a dedicated area for the charging interface. This not only enhances the technological feel but also makes it more convenient to heat the tobacco stick.
In addition to these two aspects, the cleaning stick has also become slimmer; to be precise, it has transformed into a cleaning rod. The cleaning tool has been upgraded to a rolling pad design (similar to that of a car wiper), and the new cleaning stick is also compatible with the 2.4PLUS, although the appearance has changed, the parameters of the heating element remain the same. This design minimizes damage to the heating element, which is the most vulnerable part of electronic cigarettes and can be quite expensive to repair, so this change is quite beneficial.
Thus, after the launch of the fourth-generation IQOS 3.0, major purchasing agents have already lined up. The popularity of IQOS in recent years is also supported by its core technology—heat-not-burn technology. It is well-known that the biggest advantages of IQOS brand electronic cigarettes are no ash, reduced harm, and lower nicotine cravings. All three points are related to the "heat-not-burn technology."
Heat-not-burn means that during inhalation, the tobacco is heated but not burned. This naturally eliminates ash, and in terms of harm, the temperature reached by the tobacco is lower than that of burning, thus releasing significantly fewer harmful substances compared to traditional cigarettes. The lower nicotine craving is not only due to the support of the "heat-not-burn" technology but also because IQOS itself has a lower nicotine content, making it less likely to create cravings as intense as those from traditional cigarettes.
Therefore, the fourth-generation IQOS 3.0 is definitely a product worth acquiring.
