Foggytech HOP KIT Pod System Review
Foggytech HOP KIT pod system from Jinlan Technology Co., Ltd. has been experienced for several days. Reviews in the era of pod systems need to focus more on practical and useful experiences rather than timely articles. Long-term usage tests are necessary to discover the shortcomings and design advantages of a pod device.
Upon opening the packaging... well, I was a bit confused at the moment of unboxing. The packaging design is quite simple, with plain lines outlining the product's silhouette, and the pure white background color seems overly industrial.
According to the foam filling design inside the box, it should include the main device + pod, USB cable, and one spare pod. However, the spot for the spare pod is empty.
If it weren't for the intact seal on the outside of the box, I would have wondered if someone had taken the spare pod, haha. The silver brushed finish feels very nice, and the grip is good, comfortable to hold, with a rounded and delicate main device.
At 60g, the weight of the device is quite suitable, avoiding a cheap, lightweight feel.
The HOP KIT pod system uses a draw-activated switch, and most pod systems do not have a power button. The HOP KIT has a switch designed near the bottom on the front, which can be activated by pressing five times to turn on/off.
The remaining battery life is displayed through different colors of indicator lights.
The charging port is located in the center at the bottom, which is quite standard. Whether it is convenient to use in practice is subjective.
At the top of the device, there is a common magnetic connection.
The pod is well-made, with a capacity of 2ml, which is generally sufficient for a day.
The mouthpiece shape fits well with the lips.
The bottom of the pod has only one magnetic connection, while the other side is covered by a rubber plug for the filling port.
The rubber plug is quite tight, and once opened, the filling hole is large enough for most pointed-tip bottles to fill directly.
However, when filling, do not rush; take it slow and avoid overfilling.
With an 800mAh battery, it is quite impressive, as it does not require frequent charging. Combined with the 2ml pod capacity, I can use it for 1.5 to 2 days.
The red indicator light signifies low battery, and it takes about 40-50 minutes to fully charge.
When fully charged, the flavor is richer, so I generally do not wait until the battery is completely drained to charge it.
Occasionally, there may be some e-liquid spitting, but the internal design of the pod prevents e-liquid from directly hitting the mouth, which is commendable.
The connection between the main device and the pod has some rough internal details that could be optimized further. I am someone who pursues perfection, and I believe that the handling of details in a product reflects the attitude and responsibility of a company.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with other aspects.
Now, let's talk about the most disappointing part, which is the issue of the spare pod mentioned at the beginning. I do not lack a spare pod; if the product shipped this time was specifically for a few testers and a spare pod was not included to save costs, I can understand that; (it seems that is not the case from other posts). If it was due to negligence in the production and packaging process that the spare pod was forgotten, then I would be a bit disappointed.
Being responsible should be a basic attitude of a company. Some may think I am nitpicking, but if you are given a product for free to test, what more do you want?
