According to reports, on the evening of October 28, a man's pocket suddenly erupted with sparks outside a nightclub in France, melting his jacket. The cause of the explosion was not a Samsung Note 7 phone, but the battery of an e-cigarette. The man, who suffered second-degree burns, stated to the media that he plans to sue the mainland manufacturer.

According to Taiwan's United Daily News on November 2, surveillance footage shows that at the time of the incident, the man had placed the e-cigarette in his jacket pocket when a loud explosion occurred, accompanied by a large number of sparks, resembling a burning sparkler. Nightclub security quickly rushed to extinguish the flames and took the burned man to the hospital.

"Suddenly, I heard a loud bang, and I realized I was on fire. Before I could figure out what was happening, I was in pain from the flames," said the man named Amine Britel to local media. "The doctor said I have second-degree burns, and my jacket melted. I can only say I'm lucky I didn't put the e-cigarette in my tight jeans pocket."

Britel stated that he plans to sue the mainland manufacturer to make them aware of the risks consumers face.

Last year, a 14-year-old boy in New York was trying out an e-cigarette in a mall when a store employee incorrectly installed the battery, causing the product to explode, resulting in the boy losing sight in one eye and suffering severe burns to his face.

In 2013, a woman in the U.S. was charging her e-cigarette in her car when a chemical liquid dripped down, followed by the battery exploding and catching fire, causing her severe burns. Ultimately, the operator was ordered to pay approximately $1.9 million in damages (about 12.84 million RMB).
