A new DIY atomizer generally needs to be cleaned before use; otherwise, hygiene cannot be guaranteed. Today I’ll show beginners how to clean an atomizer. We’ll use the Stratos atomizer as an example to explain the process.
Cleaning materials: 1 cup, 1 pair of tweezers, a little alcohol, and some cotton. I use high-purity anhydrous ethanol, and the cotton I use is cosmetic cotton pads. Cotton swabs are even better if you have them. First, disassemble the atomizer. From left to right, the Stratos atomizer consists of the base, atomizer core, atomizer chamber, and drip tip. If possible, it is best to remove the O-rings as well. The rubber ring on the Stratos atomizer base can be taken out by squeezing it gently with your hand. If you really can’t remove it, that’s fine too. Then use alcohol and cotton to wipe each component of the atomizer. It is best not to use alcohol on rubber rings or gaskets, to avoid affecting the rubber. The purpose of the alcohol wipe is disinfection. After wiping, place the atomizer chamber and drip tip into a cup and pour in hot water to soak them. This soaking step is also for disinfection. After soaking for one or two minutes, take them out immediately, then use cotton dipped in hot water to wipe the inside and outside of both the soaked parts and the parts that were not soaked, in order to remove residue. One thing to note in particular: for atomizer chambers or drip tips made from two different materials, do not soak them for too long. Otherwise, the adhesive may dissolve and cause damage. The reason the base and atomizer core are not soaked is that the internal structure of the base is relatively complex, and I worry that water may be difficult to wipe out completely after soaking. As for the atomizer core, if the internal cotton gets wet, it will take a long time to dry, so it is not soaked.
After using hot water to wipe away residue, dry everything again with cotton, and then it can be reassembled and used. You can clearly see that the atomizer looks much cleaner after washing.
This is a simple method for friends and beginners who may need it.
