Two major vaping associations, two major standards: the vaping industry welcomes new opportunities

December 20, China Electronic Chamber of Commerce Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee released China's first e-cigarette group standards. The group standard includes "general specification for electronic smokers" and "specification for electronic smokers". The introduction of the standard has filled the gap in the field of e-cigarette group standards in China.
It is reported that although China produces 90% of the world's e-cigarette devices, however, due to the fact that e-cigarette products have long been exported mainly to the United States and the European Union, coupled with the fact that e-cigarettes are still an emerging industry, the characterization of e-cigarettes by academics and the legal community is not the same, which has resulted in the e-cigarette industry for a long time without a reference standard. From 2016, the United States and the European Union have developed standards for e-cigarettes, and these have become the main standards adopted by the current e-cigarette industry.
With the increasing efforts of tobacco control in China and the deepening of consumers' attention to health, e-cigarettes are becoming more and more popular among smokers. In economically developed cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, the consumer market for e-cigarettes has already taken shape. As a concentration of 70% of China's e-cigarette manufacturers in Shenzhen, especially the urgent need to refer to the implementation of the domestic e-cigarette industry standards, in order to regulate the e-cigarette industry.

The two e-cigarette associations' two releases of e-cigarette standards have filled in the gaps in different aspects of domestic e-cigarette standards, and have shown that domestic e-cigarette companies are constantly strengthening their self-discipline in focusing on and complying with the premise of the relevant national policies, seeking to change the status quo of having no standards and norms, and jointly building a healthy, clean, and favorable environment for e-cigarette consumers.
