Some New U.S. FDA Tobacco Rules May Bring Changes (Photos)

According to reports from the U.S. Tobacco Industry News, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) established several regulations in August this year, attempting to regulate emerging e-cigarette products, with particularly strict regulations regarding the e-cigarette consumer demographic. Selling e-cigarettes and similar smoking devices to minors under 18 will be considered illegal.
Additionally, the new regulations impose new requirements on e-cigarette manufacturers; those whose products were launched after February 15, 2007, must also obtain approval from the FDA.
However, a U.S. senator recently warned that the Republican-controlled Congress may change or repeal some of the regulations and provisions regarding e-cigarettes and other new products that took effect in August this year.
