Following the X RDA, VXV Tech has released its second player device, the Soulmate RBA. Perhaps the previous X RDA and this RBA may not yet make everyone remember the name VXV, but if you are a player coming from atomizers like KF or Taifun, you should be interested in this RBA. Let's get to the point: the Soulmate RBA comes in a small aluminum and copper package, containing the Soulmate RBA and the necessary accessories.
Disassembling the Soulmate RBA completely, as shown below.
This 24mm atomizer is available in four colors (steel, black, blue, gold). It is a mouth-to-lung atomizer, and even with the airflow fully open, it can only barely satisfy the needs of a restricted lung hit. Everyone understands that choosing this type of RBA is not about pursuing lung hits; it doesn't need to have wide compatibility, just enough targeted performance is sufficient.
This time, let's start from the base of the atomizer for easier understanding. As seen in the image above, the airflow adjustment range at the base is moderate. If you prefer using A1-0.32mm, 2.5mm coil diameter data, this atomizer will suit you best, as it performs particularly well at low wattage. There is a triangular oil guide groove on the base.
The electrode deck has only two screws. From the image, I mistakenly thought it was only suitable for a single direction of coil wrapping, but after using it for a while, I found this was not an issue. I compared two heights of coils: when I placed the coil higher, there would be occasional condensation; whereas when I used the coil height shown in the image below, I couldn't get any condensation no matter how long I used it. Conversely, regardless of your coil wrapping direction, it's best to adjust the coil to the height shown in the photo for a fully comfortable experience, as the Soulmate offers excellent flavor and requires no maintenance.
As a side note, the generation of condensation is related to product design; some structures inherently cannot solve condensation issues. However, sometimes condensation is also related to user habits, such as the wire used and corresponding wattage. For example, with the well-known KF atomizer, using A1-0.32mm wire might result in no condensation, while using A1-0.4mm wire might lead to occasional condensation, assuming normal wattage that matches the coil.
Back to the main topic, the atomization chamber of this RBA is full of threads, allowing for installation in either direction. If we were to compare its feel to another atomizer, it should be a softened version of the KF, but more concentrated than the Taifun. Overall, the Soulmate's feel is balanced.
The atomizer's shell is made of three screw-together sections, allowing you to see the remaining oil from the outside. The Soulmate can hold a lot of oil; when using traditional 6mg e-liquid, you can fill it to the top. If using the currently popular 30mg salt nicotine e-liquid, there's no need to fill it too much, as salt e-liquid is consumed at a lower rate, and half a tank can last a day. You can easily refill by unscrewing the top cap of the atomizer, which is very convenient.
Next is the drip tip. I find it has a familiar feel, but I can't recall what it closely resembles; however, that doesn't matter.
Finally, let me share my usage. Recently, salt nicotine has become popular, and I've tried many brands of salt nicotine, most of which are between 25-35mg. I've also tried 50mg, but I can't handle that intensity on a DIY atomizer. If you usually use a mouth-to-lung atomizer with traditional 6mg nicotine e-liquid, choosing around 30mg salt nicotine is just right. In terms of data, I prefer using A1-0.32mm, 2.5mm coil diameter, around 9-10 wraps, which allows me to set the wattage on my regulated mod to about 10-11w, making it suitable, energy-efficient, and condensation-free.
Back to the Soulmate RBA, this is a very user-friendly RBA. I can't really find any issues with it, but if you prefer a no-loss oil replacement, the expenditure of this Soulmate RBA is not good. When I unscrewed the outer shell, the atomization chamber did not come off with it, meaning you probably can't retain too much leftover e-liquid in the chamber like you can with the Taifun. I don't know if this is related to the early version I used.
Now that small vapes are rampant, and many people have salt nicotine, this highly favored mouth-to-lung RBA will surely satisfy DIY enthusiasts and provide a new option for those who have always used traditional 6mg e-liquid.
