Introduction: It is reported that the American Heart Association states that e-cigarettes can help people quit smoking. Aruni Bhatnagar, a professor at the University of Louisville and the head of the study, wrote: "If someone refuses to quit smoking, we do not oppose them using e-cigarettes as a way to quit traditional cigarettes... but it should not be overused. A deadline should be set for traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Due to the potential for e-cigarettes to keep users addicted to nicotine, we believe long-term use is not advisable. Nicotine is still harmful to humans—it can cause cardiovascular reactions."

According to Chinese e-cigarette news: Although officials from the American public health department oppose the production of e-cigarettes and nicotine sprays, the American Heart Association (AHA), a non-profit health advocacy organization, holds the opposite view, believing that e-cigarettes are a good tool for people to quit smoking. The AHA released a long statement on August 24, stating that e-cigarettes must be subject to stricter regulations, especially those aimed at children. However, surprisingly, the AHA found through research that e-cigarettes can help people completely break free from their dependence on cigarettes.

Overall, the AHA's attitude towards using e-cigarettes as a substitute for tobacco products is not entirely optimistic. The AHA points out that many e-cigarette manufacturers always claim that they are offering a safer and more attractive tobacco alternative, with various flavors of e-cigarettes (such as bubblegum, caramel, chocolate, fruit, mint). The AHA hopes that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration can establish and enforce stricter regulations on the sale and advertising of e-cigarettes.
