Tobacco Warehouse Emergency: Daguan Fire Department Conducts Firefighting and Rescue Drill
"The warehouse is on fire, come quickly to put it out!" shouted the employees of the tobacco company, dialing the "119" fire alarm number to report the fire. This was a scene from a recent live-fire drill conducted by the Daguan Fire Department in Yunnan at the tobacco company's warehouse, a key unit in the area.
After the "fire" broke out, the security guard immediately called "119" and issued commands via handheld radios to quickly evacuate employees, activate fixed firefighting facilities, use fire extinguishers and indoor fire hydrants to extinguish the fire, organize personnel to meet the fire truck at the intersection, and assign specific individuals to assist the fire brigade upon arrival.
Upon receiving the alarm, the team immediately dispatched 2 vehicles and 8 personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, the on-site commander immediately issued operational orders: the alert team implemented security measures to prevent surrounding crowds from interfering with the rescue; the reconnaissance team entered the fire scene to investigate the source of the fire; the firefighting team split into two groups to quickly extinguish the fire, with one group using a fire truck to direct a hose at the source of the fire, while the second group used a fire hydrant inside the building to intercept the flames and prevent them from spreading; the assault team, equipped with protective gear, advanced into the interior under the cover of the firefighting team to evacuate and rescue individuals.
After 15 minutes of hard work by the firefighters, the "big fire" was completely extinguished.
Relevant officials stated that this drill further tested the team's collaborative combat capabilities, promptly identified issues and shortcomings in firefighting and rescue operations, and quickly developed specific corrective measures, achieving positive results from the drill.
