On June 26, the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Bao'an Bureau of the Shenzhen Market and Quality Supervision Administration, held the first session of the 2018 Electronic Cigarette Industry Standards Promotion Conference in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Representatives from over 100 member units of the committee, electronic cigarette practitioners, and related enterprises attended the meeting.
At the meeting, leaders from the Bao'an Bureau of the Shenzhen Market and Quality Supervision Administration and the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce delivered speeches. Rao Yuan, Ouyang Peng, and Guo Weiming from the Bao'an Bureau focused on interpreting industry policies and operational procedures, the public declaration of standard self-assessment + implementation of standardization strategy rewards, and intellectual property support reward policies. Standard drafter Zhang Yuxin provided a comprehensive interpretation of the "General Specifications for Electronic Cigarette Atomization Devices" and related content. Standard drafter Dr. Kuang Liping elaborated on the "Specifications for Electronic Cigarette E-liquids" and related content. Attendees expressed that they benefited greatly from the meeting, finding the standards practical and inspiring.
It is understood that on December 20 last year, the 2017 work meeting of the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce and the release conference for electronic cigarette group standards were successfully held in Bao'an District, Shenzhen. At the meeting, two officially confirmed standards, the "General Specifications for Electronic Cigarette Atomization Devices" and the "Specifications for Electronic Cigarette E-liquids," drafted by the committee, were publicly released. The introduction of these two standards fills the gap in China's electronic cigarette group standards and marks the beginning of a standardized development path for the entire industry.
A good policy, system, and standard also require strong promotion and execution. The irregular holding of the electronic cigarette industry standards promotion conference is beneficial for the publicity and implementation of industry standards, further standardizing and improving electronic cigarette intellectual property protection, combating counterfeit and substandard products, enhancing the quality and safety of imported and exported electronic cigarette products, and refining the construction of the electronic cigarette standard system.
