No more vaping in public places! The latest revision of the "Hangzhou Public Places Smoking Control Regulations" includes electronic cigarettes in the smoking control scope!

The new smoking control regulations will take effect on January 1, 2019. Today is January 2, and they are already in effect. No more vaping in public places! As electronic cigarettes become more popular, more and more people are starting to vape. To avoid misunderstandings, conflicts, and to consider the feelings of others, it is not recommended to vape in crowded public places. This time, Hangzhou has directly included electronic cigarettes in the smoking control regulations, prohibiting vaping in public places.

Moreover, the new regulations state that the scope of non-smoking areas is not limited to "the urban areas of Hangzhou and the towns where county (city) governments are located" but has expanded to "the administrative region of Hangzhou." In other words, it applies to the entire city of Hangzhou!

With Hangzhou taking the lead, it is expected that other cities in China will follow suit in implementing smoking control measures!
