I used to buy vaping devices from Taobao stores, but now you can’t find them on Taobao, JD.com, or even Xianyu anymore. A few days ago, I went around to some offline vape shops, and honestly, the experience was better than buying online. Besides being able to try new products hands-on, you can also sample all the flavors on site, so you avoid the awkward situation of buying something you end up not liking and then not being able to return it.
What I didn’t expect, though, was that buying vaping devices offline now requires showing your ID. If you don’t show your ID, they won’t sell to you no matter what. I guess this also counts as a way to protect minors and prevent them from purchasing and using vaping devices.
