It’s time for a new e-liquid review, and this time the stars are two flavors from DANCE DOGS. It’s said that there are four flavors: red, yellow, blue, and black. I got my hands on two bottles, the red HAPPY DAY and the blue AMUSEMENT PARK, which translates to blue being the amusement park and red being a happy day… well, let’s skip the translation for now.
The packaging consists of black 60ml squeeze bottles, with a VG/PG ratio of 70/30 and nicotine at 3mg. This is currently the most popular packaging on the market, simple and straightforward.
I find the most interesting part of e-liquid reviews is that you don’t know exactly what the flavor is, relying solely on your sense of smell, taste, and imagination to identify it. When I got the bottles, I didn’t know which was which. First, I opened the blue bottle and smelled it; it’s fruity, and I can confirm it’s a mixed fruit flavor, one that doesn’t have a distinct scent, possibly with a bit of sourness, likely a refreshing fruit oil. My first impression is that it’s similar to Berry Chef’s Red Ice, possibly containing lime, plum, raspberry, etc. The red bottle is also fruity but has a noticeable sourness and mango flavor. Yes, sour mango, but it’s clearly not as intense as pure mango oil, so it’s also a relatively balanced mixed fruit flavor. I put it on the atomizer and started vaping!
The atomizers I used for testing: Fifth District Dripper (three-core Clapton dual coil, resistance about 0.15; 0.6A1 six-loop single wire, resistance about 0.2), 1VP RTA (0.6A1 six-loop single wire). The flavor intensity indeed improved significantly. Originally, 1VP is also recommended for use with floral wires, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find suitable small floral wires when making the coils. However, the single wire performed decently, just with a slightly weaker layering compared to the floral wire in the Fifth District, but due to the bottom airflow, it performed slightly better on certain specific flavors, like the sweetness of the red bottle and the sourness of the blue bottle.
Indeed… most fruit oils now have a cooling sensation. I’m not particularly fond of fruity flavors, especially not the cooling sensation. However, both bottles have just the right amount of cooling, not too strong, and won’t directly irritate the throat when inhaled, especially when using high wattage and large vapor. This is quite nice. Additionally, the 3mg nicotine level is acceptable for most smokers, as many experienced smokers are reducing their nicotine intake. However, for heavy smokers, it might feel a bit soft, as 3mg actually equals about 1.3mg in reality. For me, that’s just too low…
The blue amusement park is indeed a very refreshing fruit oil, with a mix of various light fruits. It’s neither bland nor abrupt, reminiscent of the period when Purple MOMO and Berry Chef became popular, and many brands have since released similar fruit oils with a similar taste. It’s characterized by being unremarkable but easy to vape. I feel that the biggest market for this oil lies in its acceptability; no matter what flavor preference someone has, even if they don’t particularly like it, they won’t refuse it. However, a common issue is the loss of flavor, and alternating with other oils might help.
As for the red happy flavor, I genuinely like it. Mango flavor is one of my favorites among fruit oils, and I’ve tried almost all the mango oils on the market. However, this oil is still very distinctive. First, the cooling sensation is just right, the sweetness is just right, the sourness is just right, and the mango flavor is just right. Everything seems perfectly balanced. Some might feel the mango flavor is a bit weak, but everyone knows that mango is a fruit with a very strong flavor. It’s precisely this perfectly balanced mango flavor that doesn’t overshadow the auxiliary flavors that need to be expressed (well, perhaps this proportion of mango is considered the auxiliary flavor…), allowing the sweetness and sourness to be accurately expressed, reminiscent of grapefruit flavors.
As I write this, I recall mentioning that this oil resembles Yangzhi Ganlu? It indeed seems similar, with an 80% similarity, but if we say it’s Yangzhi Ganlu, it seems to lack a bit of creaminess and coconut flavor. There’s definitely no coconut flavor; that flavor is quite dominant. Overall, this oil has its characteristics, is smooth, and the proportion of various flavors is really good. After receiving the oil for testing, I’ve already vaped about a quarter of it. I recommend giving it a try.
