For a tobacco-flavored e-liquid, it seems quite difficult to achieve the authentic taste of burning tobacco leaves~ Therefore, most tobacco-flavored e-liquids on the market do not truly replicate that flavor~ Instead, they are more of a blend! There are very few e-liquids that can genuinely express the tobacco flavor.
Today, I would like to introduce the brand Black Note, which claims to use a cold extraction technique for tobacco in the production of its e-liquids, without adding artificial flavors, colorants, or chemical additives, and adhering to strict EU standards. In fact, Black Note has been on the market for some time, but it hasn't received widespread attention, so it didn't emerge during the vaping boom! 【Packaging】 Black Note e-liquids come in a standalone cylindrical paper box, designed with a vintage staff notation theme. The black note logo and the yellowed paper give it a classical feel, and the e-liquid bottle continues this style.
The back of the cylindrical box tells a story~ The two e-liquids being reviewed today are: forte - a robust flavor, and Sonata - a sonata! The bottom even has the author's handwritten signature!
forte - a robust flavor: White Burley tobacco grown in the fertile volcanic soil of Naples, our White Burley is sun-dried in Italy, bringing out a slightly sweet flavor. [Robust] provides a rich aroma and is a typical representative of White Burley in the vaping world. The Burley tobacco is cultivated in the mountains of Naples and sun-dried.
Sonata - a sonata: Originating in the 17th century, Cavendish uses a unique cutting and curing process to bring out the natural sweetness of the tobacco leaves. [Sonata] is made from dark Virginia tobacco that has been fire-cured and steamed to enrich its flavor, allowing the strong taste to fully develop. Dark Virginia tobacco, after being fire-cured and steamed, brings out natural sweetness.
The side of the cylinder indicates the nicotine content and the VG/PG ratio of this e-liquid: 50/50, along with batch information, etc.

【Flavor Experience】
Flavor Experience: Upon opening the bottle, I initially thought my sense of smell was off, as I couldn't detect any scent. After a few more sniffs, there was a faint tobacco aroma! As a tobacco-flavored e-liquid, its fragrance is much more subdued compared to the intense tobacco flavors on the market. The inhale is full-bodied with a slight tobacco taste, smooth on the palate, and there is a subtle nutty aroma in the throat. After taking a few more puffs, the tobacco flavor gradually accumulates in the throat, allowing one to appreciate the rich taste of this e-liquid! However, it still feels somewhat empty~ The initial notes of tobacco flavor are not robust enough! There is a hint of a cigar-like finish.
Sonata - a sonata: Dark Virginia tobacco, after being fire-cured and steamed, brings out natural sweetness.
Flavor Experience: Similar to the robust flavor, upon opening, there is a slight tobacco scent, and the inhale has a taste reminiscent of roasted tobacco, smooth and full-bodied with a hint of sweetness, and a nutty aroma in the finish! Compared to the robust flavor, Sonata is richer, and the nutty aroma is more pronounced. Perhaps due to the 0 nicotine content, the flavor is not particularly intense!
【Conclusion】
These two e-liquids from Black Note give me the impression that the tobacco flavor is rich and fragrant~ They belong to the "tasting" category of e-liquids, and based on the cold extraction process with 0 nicotine content, the flavor is slightly lacking, giving a somewhat empty feeling. If paired with 3MG or 6MG nicotine content, I believe the flavor would be excellent! The tobacco flavor is still relatively good~ If you want to taste it, I still recommend one with nicotine!
