MI-POD Vape Kit Lung-Hit Review

  All-in-one e-cigarette devices and portable devices have become increasingly popular in the market in 2018. Their simple operation logic and strong portability have made these devices favored by many new users and those who prioritize portability. The Mi-Pod from Smoking Vapor has gained widespread attention in both domestic and international markets due to its compact and exquisite design and easy-to-use operation logic. Today, I will share my experience with it.

  The white packaging box features the MI-POD product logo and offers color options including rainbow, white, black, and yellow.

  Upon opening, you will find the kit includes one device, two pods, a 15ml bottle of mint burst e-liquid, a USB cable, and a lanyard.

  The lanyard can be attached to the device for convenient carrying when going out.

  The kit comes with two pre-installed pods, each with a capacity of 2ml.

  Its core uses a traditional cotton and wire setup, so its lifespan depends on the degree of carbon buildup from the e-liquid.

  At the top, you can see a separate oil inlet hole and a central airflow switch channel; at the bottom, there are the oil filling hole, corresponding airflow switch, and electrode contacts.

  For daily use, simply pull up the silicone plug to add e-liquid, but be careful to use a dropper bottle or syringe bottle, as regular glass droppers are not suitable.

  The MI-POD device measures 50*50*13mm, making it very compact; additionally, the body features various markings, an “M” shaped e-liquid observation window, and artistic fonts on the sides and bottom. Notably, next to the USB charging port, there is a dedicated power button, allowing users to turn it on/off by pressing it five times, which is a thoughtful design.

  Once the pod is installed, you can use it directly. After powering on, you will see the LED light flashing in the observation window, with corresponding indicators during charging or operation.

  The pod has a house-shaped design, with the roof serving as the mouthpiece. Unfortunately, the shape of the mouthpiece is not very comfortable. The side of the mouthpiece has an airflow hole, and there is a hole in the middle of the mouthpiece that connects to the automatic ignition sensor; this hole does not produce vapor. The vapor intake enters the pod from the side, forming a U-shape towards the mouthpiece. The bottom has two gold-plated metal electrodes, and when installing the pod, be mindful of the orientation, ensuring the metal electrodes face outward.

  This pod requires inverting it to add e-liquid; simply pull off the sealing rubber cap to refill, and the oil chamber has a capacity of 2ml. The rubber cap cannot be completely removed, which reduces the likelihood of losing the sealing cap. When sealing it, you will hear a “click” sound, indicating the cap is in place.

  Although the filling hole is small, I initially thought it was best to use a needle-tip bottle or a pointed filling bottle. However, if you are careful while filling, you can also use a regular dropper bottle. It’s best not to use e-liquids with a VG content greater than 70%.

  The new pod comes in a black outer box, secured with a clasp to hold the mouthpiece in place.

  Appearance Design

  The design of the device is outstanding. Although the digital version has a fashionable appearance, the stickers can be removed, which raises concerns about its durability over time. Therefore, I strongly recommend the metal version. The metal version has a brushed effect that is very pleasing to the eye, and the metallic texture makes the device look more refined. The entire device has no sharp edges; both sides and corners are rounded, providing a great hand feel. Coupled with the side “M” window, transparent mouthpiece, and semi-transparent lighting, the compact body is beautiful, especially the colorful metal version, which is extremely cool.

  Experience

  After using it for a while, I can indeed get a good flavor from this little device, which I believe is related to its use of organic cotton. I typically take a day to finish one pod, and there is no burnt taste. The 1.0Ω coil produces a fixed amount of vapor, and there is a popping sound during use.

  It’s unrealistic to expect large vapor clouds; it’s more suitable for flavor-oriented vaping. I prefer lung hits, but I can still achieve a satisfying lung hit from the Mi-Pod. If you prefer a tighter draw, you can block the airflow hole with your thumb; however, there are no further adjustments to the airflow.

  The battery life of the Mi-Pod is also quite good. During my use, it can support at least two pods. I believe it can handle a day’s worth of vaping without any issues. Its built-in battery is 950mAh, outputting about 15W on the 1.0Ω coil.

  I have been using the Mi-Pod with my regulated box mod for several days now. It still provides me with a good flavor without any unpleasant tastes, and the atomizer core of the pod seems to be quite durable. However, after laying it flat overnight, I experienced some gurgling sounds and some condensation.

  Suggestions for Improvement

  So far, I think the shape of the Mi-Pod’s mouthpiece is an issue; it could be designed to be more comfortable. Holding it makes my lips feel awkward, and sometimes my lower lip feels a bit hot. Additionally, if you vape continuously, the vapor temperature can be quite high. If you don’t see this as a problem, feel free to ignore my feelings.

  On the digital version of the device, the decorative stickers can be removed, which makes me a bit concerned about its durability after long-term use, so I still recommend purchasing the metal version of the Mi-Pod. I also noticed that my Micro-USB port is slightly misaligned, but it doesn’t affect functionality. I would say that for a price of 298 yuan, it should have better quality control and quality.

  Evaluation

  With the release of the Mi-One last year, mini all-in-one devices have become even more compact. Clearly, manufacturers are paying attention to this market, believing that small pod systems may be the next trend. Building on its success, the Mi-Pod has developed the original product in a slightly different direction, adopting a refillable pod design.

  The Mi-Pod is an excellent mini all-in-one device. However, for such a product, I feel that the price of the device itself is a bit high. Fortunately, the price of the pods is not too expensive, generally a bit more than a finished atomizer core, around 50 yuan for two. This reminds me of the Aspire Breeze kit, which uses an atomizer core design. However, I believe that with reduced pod costs, the Mi-Pod’s approach would be better. You can replace the oil chamber and mouthpiece simultaneously when changing the atomizer core. We will often change e-liquid flavors, and considering the hassle of cleaning the atomizer chamber in the Breeze, the Mi-Pod’s advantages become apparent. I’m not trying to compare two unequal products; I’m merely comparing the design philosophy of consumables.

  Overall, I really like the style of the Mi-Pod; its compact shape is very appealing. Although there are some design issues that I care about or don’t care about, I find myself using it without hesitation. Ultimately, what matters to me is that it serves as a great supplement to my daily use, and I feel I really need it. So if you are a beginner, you might consider getting one; its compactness and flavor will surprise you. If you are an experienced user, please carefully examine its shortcomings and usage scenarios before making a reasonable judgment.

  In terms of flavor, since it uses cotton and wire, its positioning is not the so-called “rich flavor” or “clear layering” descriptions, so it is more suitable for high mint cooling or high nicotine content e-liquid products, which is also the most appropriate use for such devices. Of course, if you use regular e-liquids, its versatility is still guaranteed. As for vapor production, for a product designed for lung hits, combined with a good ignition speed, there are no issues.

  In summary, the MI-POD kit is designed for compact portability, paired with a sufficiently trendy appearance and corresponding accessories, making it a competent product. However, as a product that emphasizes cost-effectiveness, it can be purchased for only 298 yuan, but its pods retail for 50 yuan each (official price: 298 yuan for two pods at 50 yuan each), which increases the usage cost and may significantly affect consumer perception.
