This time, I bring you a tea-flavored e-liquid—Osmanthus Oolong Tea. Speaking of drinking tea, I am really excited. Because my three major hobbies in life are: smoking, drinking tea, and collecting antiques. Since I quit smoking, smoking has naturally turned into vaping!
I started drinking tea at a young age, and of course, my favorite is still jasmine tea. Later, I gradually tried green tea, small tangerine, Tieguanyin, and so on. So, I may have only tried Tieguanyin and the bottled version from Suntory when it comes to Oolong tea. However, the taste of Oolong tea still lingers in my memory.Alright, let’s take a look at this e-liquid!
First, the packaging is a regular glass bottle. The label features an ink wash painting style, giving a sense of tradition combined with modernity, with a subtle elegant vibe that is quite appealing. But why is there a map of Taiwan on the label? Is it to indicate the identity of the e-liquid? However, we mentioned earlier that Osmanthus Oolong Tea originates from Anxi, which is a bit strange. The bottle cap is sealed with black wax, which reminds us of classic imported high-end oils like Little Red Riding Hood and Le Sa Lu Journey. I must say, such packaging does help enhance the prestige of the e-liquid, but it makes refilling extremely inconvenient.
The e-liquid has a capacity of 50ml, with a VG/PG ratio of 70:30 and a nicotine content of 3mg. The warning labels are complete, but surprisingly, there is no Chinese!
It is worth mentioning that this e-liquid contains nicotine salts, but I’ll keep you in suspense about the purpose of this.
Upon opening the cap, it connects directly with the e-liquid, which is a major drawback! If I remember correctly, the Devil's Kiss with the same packaging has a small plug blocking the bottle opening.
The e-liquid is a light yellow-green color, reminiscent of tea soup, which I find quite nice as it visually stimulates our desire to taste.
Next is the flavor description:
Upon opening the bottle, there is a strong Osmanthus fragrance, while the tea aroma of Oolong is relatively mild. The initial taste is still the fragrance of Osmanthus, which is quite sweet, and upon inhaling, it marks a turning point in the overall flavor. At this point, the taste of Oolong tea slowly emerges, and the tea flavor is very authentic, slightly bitter amidst the tea aroma, and the sweetness upon exhaling is quite low, leaving a lingering tea fragrance in the mouth, thanks to the benefits of nicotine salts, the overall performance is very smooth, and the layering is quite good. I must say, this is one of the more detailed descriptions I have seen. Director!!! Give the screenwriter a chicken leg!!! But you sold me out!!! Nicotine salts, I was just keeping it a secret!!!! Why did you reveal it yourself!!!
Let’s take a whiff of this e-liquid! When I sniffed carefully, there was indeed a clear and authentic Osmanthus fragrance, but there was no hint of Oolong tea flavor. Due to the addition of nicotine salts, there is a slight peculiar stimulating taste, but it is not unpleasant, just a little bit.
Alright! Let’s vape!
The device I used for this experience is the Precision White Copper Rogue, with a Moka version V1.5, triple-core Clapton 3.0 five wraps, dual coil, resistance 0.16. As for why I used the Moka version, actually, I have a deep malice... Hehehe! Didn’t you say the layering is clear? Then I’ll use a center heating wire atomizer, where the flavor is rich but lacks layering (sly smile).
The initial taste is a highly restored Osmanthus flavor enveloped in a refreshing sweetness, which resembles the previous silver needle white tea. Soon after, the nicotine salts begin to attack, and in the corners of the mouth, there is a faint stimulating sensation, but surprisingly, the throat remains smooth with the vapor. At this moment, I finally understand what the description of smoothness feels like! The vapor is thick and full, held in the mouth, it is as smooth as Dove chocolate (not joking, serious face!). At the moment of exhaling the thick white vapor, I suddenly feel the elusive Oolong tea, just as I want to grasp it, it disappears with the flow of vapor, it’s simply marvelous! So enjoyable!
Finally, let’s summarize the drawbacks:
1. The packaging, can we have a dropper bottle, please?!
2. Due to the nicotine salts, vaping too much may cause a bit of dry mouth.
