HELLOCIG Twilight Memory E-liquid Review

HELLOCIG is well known for its house-blended e-liquids, and I had wanted to try them for a long time. Since I already had plenty of e-liquid on hand, I hesitated to buy more. Their customer service was excellent: they added me on WeChat via my phone numbe

Miaolan is known for its self-mixed e-liquids, which I have long desired to try. However, I have been quite reluctant to purchase due to having a lot of e-liquids on hand.

Miaolan's service is excellent. They added me on WeChat through my phone number, and any questions or interactions I have are quickly answered. For example, when I asked about the nicotine concentration, I was told it was 3mg. When I inquired about the flavor, I mentioned fruits, etc. During our exchanges, they often replied with 20-second voice messages from a lady who speaks Mandarin very well, with a sweet voice that lifts my spirits.

The product I received for testing is Miaolan's "Twilight Memory" e-liquid. According to online sources, it is a blend of rum, tobacco, and coconut flavors, with a concentration of 3mg in a 10ml bottle.

   1. Appearance Evaluation
The e-liquid comes in a transparent glass bottle with a black press-top cap, equipped with a squeeze pouch and dropper. The orange-yellow label prominently displays the product name. The side indicates that it is 10ml and 3mg. This is the first time I have received a 10ml sample for testing; usually, mainstream products are sent in larger sizes. I checked on a certain e-commerce platform, and there are three sizes available. I wasn't expecting a 120ml bottle, but a 30ml would have been fine; 10ml samples can sometimes be inaccurate in testing.

The other side of the bottle features the Miaolan vapor logo and English warnings such as "Shake well before use."

   2. Aroma Evaluation
Upon opening the cap, a rich aroma is immediately noticeable, reminiscent of coconut milk and sugar. The rum flavor is somewhat ambiguous; if I didn't know the ingredients beforehand, I wouldn't have thought of it. Interestingly, there is also a hint of a herbaceous scent that is not detectable unless you get close, as it is completely masked by other aromas. If you open the bottle after leaving it in a drawer for a while, you can smell it more distinctly, along with some tobacco notes. I dripped a drop on the back of my hand, and there was no sensation of artificial flavoring or burning.

   3. Mouth Inhalation Evaluation
For mouth inhalation, I used the Mask King T-more 100W box mod with a Freedom atomizer, using 28ga titanium wire wrapped 9 times with a diameter of 2.5, resulting in a resistance of 0.36Ω, with Muji cotton, and set to temperature control mode at 220°C.

The initial notes had a hint of rum, with a slight tobacco flavor; the mid-notes balanced both flavors; the final notes gradually introduced coconut flavor with a light sweetness that was not overwhelming. When I increased the temperature to 280°C, it felt a bit burnt, so I returned to 260°C, which felt just right. There was no cooling sensation, and the throat hit was comfortable.

   4. Lung Inhalation Evaluation
For lung inhalation, I used the SMOANT Cylon 218W box mod with an Arthur dripper, using dual-core Clapton coils (2x28ga + 38ga) wrapped 6 times with a diameter of 3.0, resulting in a dual resistance of 0.35Ω, with Muji cotton, set to a power mode of 50W.

Overall, the lung inhalation still had a noticeable rum flavor, with a more pronounced tobacco taste compared to mouth inhalation. The final notes had a stronger coconut flavor, and the throat hit was comfortable, producing a large amount of vapor.

Combining both mouth and lung inhalation, I felt this e-liquid was quite similar to the Thai coconut e-liquid I had reviewed a few days ago. I took a few puffs of the Thai coconut, and indeed, they were quite alike. The differences were that Twilight Memory had a hint of bitterness from the rum that the Thai coconut did not have, and the Thai coconut had a sweeter and more intense coconut flavor, while Twilight Memory's flavors were milder.

   5. Carbon Build-Up Evaluation
This is the situation after 4ml of use. There was a noticeable amount of carbon build-up after 4ml, considering that there is only 10ml in total. The overall situation is not very optimistic.

   6. Evaluation Summary
  Highlights:
    1. Domestic e-liquid with a good flavor.
  2. Produces a substantial amount of vapor, estimated to be over 60% VG (later confirmed with customer service to be 80%).
  3. Excellent service attitude.
    Drawbacks:
  1. Carbon build-up is a problem that needs to be addressed.
1.5. Unable to verify authenticity; at least I couldn't verify this bottle. However, it seems that verification is not necessary.
    Summary:
As a domestic e-liquid, achieving this level with Miaolan is quite impressive. Although Twilight Memory is not my favorite fruit flavor, the overall taste is good, with a large vapor production and a pleasant combination of tobacco, rum, and coconut flavors that are not overly sweet or cooling, providing a comfortable throat hit. Coupled with attentive and enthusiastic service, the future of Miaolan is certainly worth looking forward to.
Overall, the coconut flavor is too strong, overshadowing other flavors. The cocoa flavor is also not evident during the inhalation and exhalation process, but a hint of cocoa can be detected in the exhaled vapor. Due to the overpowering coconut flavor and high PG content, it can feel dry when vaped. However, if paired with high nicotine and taken in small puffs, savoring the aftertaste can be quite enjoyable.
I find it a bit pricey; currently, the 30ml price on a certain e-commerce platform is 38 yuan, and when I spoke with customer service, they mentioned it would soon increase to 40-42 yuan. I will be mixing my own e-liquids, and honestly, I cannot understand this pricing.
