YIHI EVOVE lite E-Cigarette Review: Great Looks, Realistic Flavor!

YIHI is considered a leading brand in the domestic e-cigarette market. Within just six months of launching its products, it achieved sales exceeding 20 million yuan, with an online and offline repurchase rate of 55% (no wonder Luo Pang Pang is determined to work hard). The EVOVE lite, which I experienced, was released on April 12 of this year and is a pod-based vaping device that claims to bring colorful design language and flagship ceramic atomization cores to a price point of 199 yuan (from the promotional material, this company has a strong internet vibe). Let's first take a look at the product design.
 
Appearance: Colorful and Compact

The outer packaging adopts the same color design as the internal product. The product I have is in pine green. The back of the packaging box explains some precautions, including prohibiting minors from purchasing and using it, and also indicates the product model and configuration. It is important to remind everyone that due to the storage issues of e-liquid, which is meant for ingestion, this type of e-cigarette has a limited shelf life, marked as two years on the box. Users purchasing e-cigarettes should keep this in mind.
 
Upon opening the packaging, it contains one e-cigarette device, two pods, and a charging cable. The arrangement of the products inside the packaging has a strong internet style, giving a smartphone unboxing feel. After removing the translucent protective layer, I took out the e-cigarette device and looked at the accessories and product manual. If you are using YIHI's e-cigarette for the first time, I think it is necessary to keep a quick start guide for the product. Not that you will need it often, but the internet vibe is quite touching.
 
It should be noted that each EVOVE lite comes with two pods, as this is a replaceable type, and each time you use one, you need to purchase a replacement. Each pod is individually packaged, and YIHI uses different colors to distinguish the flavors of the pods, which include green bean ice cream, black ice mint, Uji matcha, milk foam coffee, and ice fresh mango. The ones I have are black ice mint and green bean ice cream, so my flavor experience is limited to these two flavors.
 
YIHI's colorful design language is reflected in both the e-cigarette device and the pods. Each flavor pod is marked with a different color, while the e-cigarette device is available in dark blue, orange, pine green, dark gray, and apricot yellow, allowing for a combination of 25 colors, satisfying the current young people's preference for colorful product designs. Personally, I quite like the contrasting color combinations.
 
The EVOVE lite's body is made from a single injection-molded non-metallic material, with a shell design featuring spiral wave patterns, making it quite comfortable to hold. The official description uses "babyskin" to promote the hand feel, which reminds me of...  
One side of the device has a micro-USB charging port, while the other side has the pod insertion port, which contains two metal contacts. Inside the device is a 280mAh long-lasting battery, which can last for a day on a full charge (300 puffs; I'm not sure how many puffs you take to finish a cigarette, so familiar users can convert their usage time). It only takes 28 minutes to fully charge.
 
Since it is named lite, affordability is one aspect, and portability is another. After inserting the pod, the overall length is 10cm, thickness is 0.7cm, and it weighs only 18g, making it very lightweight—much lighter than a pack of cigarettes. The compact and lightweight design allows for easy placement without taking up much space. However, I would like to suggest that the official could consider including a small storage box in future versions, as this would make storage much cleaner and more hygienic.
 
Although the mouthpiece is made from FDA-approved PCTG baby bottle-grade material, having a storage box would be a real necessity.
 
Flavor Review: Smooth, Not Harsh on the Throat

As an e-cigarette product, if it doesn't have a good flavor, it is no better than a useless item. Therefore, regardless of how stylish and safe the design is, if it doesn't please the palate, everything is in vain.
 
I believe that three main factors influence flavor: the feel of the mouthpiece against the lips, the e-liquid formula, and the atomizer. First, regarding the mouthpiece, if you are used to the round tips of traditional cigarettes, this rectangular mouthpiece may feel a bit awkward at first, giving a sense of "this is not a cigarette," more like a toy in your mouth.  
Next, regarding the e-liquid, the EVOVE lite uses a self-developed NicSalt T2 nicotine salt formula, which provides a good throat hit and can accurately simulate the real smoking experience. Coupled with five delightful flavors selected through a focus group and perfumers, these are flavors that traditional cigarettes do not possess.  
As we all know, the atomizer is crucial in influencing the flavor of e-cigarettes. Atomization efficiency, leakage prevention, and coil burning are all important considerations. The lite uses a cube ceramic atomizer, which maximizes oil storage per unit area to effectively prevent dry burning, eliminating burnt coils. It also features high-quality stable continuous heating performance, with atomization efficiency improved by 54% compared to the previous generation. In simpler terms, this means stable vaporization temperature, resulting in a better flavor experience. I tried it out and found that there was basically no harshness or throat irritation. With the cooling effect, my mouth felt refreshing and cool, while the green bean flavor had a slightly sweet and cloying sensation, which is not to my taste.  
After my friends tried it, their feedback was that it was smooth, gentle on the throat, and provided a good mouthfeel. If it could be made round, they expressed a willingness to purchase it.  
Summary: Overall, the EVOVE lite offers a price-to-experience ratio that is quite reasonable. YIHI has not compromised on flavor due to the price. In the competitive landscape, e-cigarettes are bound to become the next red ocean. The brand that can first impress users with its product will naturally gain an early advantage. I would like to remind everyone that smoking is prohibited for minors, and users without a smoking habit are not advised to try it. If you are a long-time smoker, you might consider trying e-cigarettes, as they can reduce the intake of harmful substances and are also more convenient to carry.
