Today, I want to share a product created by the former president of Smartisan Technology, Peng Jinzhao, under the vvild brand: the vvild pod vape. I was quite interested when I first learned about vvild, mainly because it’s intriguing to see how Luo Yonghao, the CEO of Smartisan Technology, would make his mark in the vaping industry after years in the smartphone sector. Without further ado, let’s dive into the experience.

The packaging of the vvild pod is quite elegant, featuring a red and white color scheme. The front displays the brand logo, while the back provides a detailed description of the vvild pod.

Upon removing the packaging cover, you can see the neatly organized interior, which includes three flavors of pods (original tobacco, cool mint, tropical mango), showcasing the generous nature of the vvild pod, as most pod vapes typically only come with two pods. The concise manual also makes it easy for users to quickly reference.

The vvild pod features a flat design style, which indeed feels quite different. In today’s market, where many pod vapes are quite similar, a few uniquely designed options are needed to refresh users' aesthetic fatigue.

As a portable device, the feel in hand is crucial. The vvild pod handles this aspect well, with large curved surfaces on both sides that ensure overall aesthetics while also considering grip comfort, making it a top contender among pod vapes.

Additionally, the matte finish on the surface adds to the grip, making it friendly even for users with sweaty hands.

The design of the indicator light on the vvild pod is also quite unique, featuring a hidden design style (actually shaped like the brand logo), which significantly contributes to the overall aesthetics of the vvild pod. The dotted circular light display is even more visually appealing (indicator light: white when fully charged, red during use).

The charging port at the bottom of the vape stick is trendy, featuring a Type-C interface. After all, most flagship smartphones now use this interface, while the Micro USB interface is basically on the verge of obsolescence.

Looking at the top of the vape stick, the materials used in the vvild pod feel quite solid. The internal protective silicone pad effectively protects the internal circuit board and battery from damage caused by e-liquid leakage.

The airflow holes on the vvild pod are designed for dual-side intake, which, compared to a bottom design, prevents airflow from passing through the circuit board and battery, thus avoiding contamination. This also reduces airflow travel, allowing for quicker vapor production.

Overall, the craftsmanship of the vvild pod feels well-controlled by the manufacturer, and it can be described as seamless (including the pods), giving off a "smartphone vibe".

Regarding the pods, aside from the impeccable craftsmanship mentioned earlier, they also exhibit a strong design sense, particularly in their user-friendly aspects. The tapered ends not only fit better against the lips but also facilitate insertion and removal. The matte finish on the tapered areas also addresses the issues of slipping during inhalation and insertion/removal.

However, I would suggest increasing the transparency of the pods, as it is difficult to gauge the remaining e-liquid level with the naked eye in low light conditions.

Like most pod vapes, the vvild pod also uses a honeycomb ceramic core, which provides a very good flavor experience. Additionally, the three-layer silicone sealing effectively prevents oil leakage, while the new oil guiding design and oil-gas separation structure significantly reduce the risk of burnt pods. This is why, during my week of use, I have not experienced any oil leakage or burnt cores.

In contrast, some brands have been facing negative news lately, proving that while they excel in flavor, they struggle with burnt issues.

Speaking of flavor, I am very satisfied with the performance of the vvild pod, and my close friend (a seasoned physical store owner in the vaping industry) has given it high praise for surpassing expectations. Compared to mainstream pod vapes, the vvild pod offers a smoother inhale, with vapor feeling like cotton in the mouth, silky and without any graininess, and the flavor is richer with a moderate throat hit (mainly comparing it to green bean smoothie), while the vapor production is quicker, thanks to the excellent airflow resistance.

Here are my personal impressions of the five pod flavors, for reference only.

Original Tobacco (5%): The natural flavor of tobacco is fully restored, rather than just a singular caramel taste. Upon exhaling, there is a noticeable throat hit, but it is not harsh at all. I personally have distanced myself from cigarettes and do not smoke excessively, so I would recommend this for heavy smokers.

Cool Mint (3%): The natural mint flavor hits immediately, rich yet authentic, smooth without a harsh throat hit. When the vapor is inhaled through the nose, the refreshing sensation of mint is instantly invigorating.

Tropical Mango (3%): I feel this flavor is quite common, but I prefer the vvild pod's tropical mango, as the ripe mango flavor is clear without being overly intense, and the coolness is just mild, not icy.

Sweet Lychee (3%): The vapor entry showcases a mix of fruit flavors, with lychee being quite prominent in the aftertaste, mildly cool and sweet, with a pleasant aroma.

Green Bean Smoothie (3%): This flavor retains the natural aroma of green beans, richer and purer compared to some brands, with a cooling throat hit. When inhaled through the nose, the refreshing sensation of the smoothie envelops the mind, providing a comforting experience.

In summary, the vvild pod, developed by a team of senior technical experts from Huawei, Smartisan Technology, and Heyuan Technology, indeed brings us some surprises, especially with its smooth flavor performance, which feels like a breakthrough in the current pod vape flavor experience. The 2ml e-liquid capacity and 350mAh battery also demonstrate its durability, making it a great tool for smoking cessation.

Luo Yonghao's transition from Smartisan Technology to the vaping industry is undoubtedly good news. It is rumored that Xiaomi Technology is also interested in entering the vaping market (though this has been denied). Regardless of the truth, it is clear that vaping has garnered the attention of more public figures and powerful enterprises, indicating a bright future for the vaping market.

For vaping to develop well and quickly in China, it also requires more influential figures to endorse it and even passionately join the cause. Of course, it also needs policy support and positive public opinion. Only in this way can vaping, which originated in China, thrive and grow stronger.
