On November 1, the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration issued a notice on its official website regarding "Further Protecting Minors from E-Cigarette Harm," urging e-cigarette manufacturers, sellers, or individuals to promptly shut down e-cigarette online sales websites or apps; and urging e-commerce platforms to promptly close e-cigarette stores.
The notice states that to strengthen the protection of minors' physical and mental health, all market entities are prohibited from selling e-cigarettes to minors. Any organization or individual should discourage and stop the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.
In addition, the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration also stated that to further enhance the protection of minors' physical and mental health and prevent minors from purchasing and using e-cigarettes online, from the date of this notice, it urges e-cigarette manufacturers, sellers, or individuals to promptly shut down e-cigarette online sales websites or apps; urges e-commerce platforms to promptly close e-cigarette stores and remove e-cigarette products from shelves; and urges e-cigarette manufacturers, sellers, or individuals to withdraw e-cigarette advertisements published online.
