Jurong, Jiangsu: Three Departments Conduct Joint Inspection of E-Cigarettes Around Schools

To better protect minors, authorities in Jurong, Jiangsu carried out a joint inspection of vape shops near schools, checking licenses, business scope, and potential illegal sales practices.
In order to further protect minors from the harm of vaping devices, on June 16, the Jurong City Procuratorate in Jiangsu Province, together with the city’s Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and Market Supervision Administration, carried out a special inspection of e-cigarettes around school campuses.

During the joint inspection, inspectors checked vaping stores operating near schools. The inspection focused on whether business licenses were valid, whether there were any operations beyond the approved business scope, and whether signs prohibiting sales to minors were prominently displayed. For stores that did not comply with operating standards, inspectors ordered on-site rectification. During the inspection, personnel also posted the “Notice on Further Protecting Minors from the Harm of E-Cigarettes” inside vaping stores.

Next, the procuratorate will continue to work with relevant departments to conduct special inspections of vaping stores near schools across the city.
