Philip Morris International (PMI) has announced that, effective April 1, 2026, prices for its TEREA and SENTIA heated tobacco products will increase in line with higher tobacco taxes. The retail price of TEREA products will rise from 580 yen to 620 yen, while SENTIA products will increase from 530 yen to 570 yen. The Miix series, designed specifically for lil Hybrid devices, will go up from 510 yen to 560 yen.

At the same time, the suggested retail price of Marlboro cigarettes will also increase from 600 yen to 620 yen. As taxes on heated tobacco sticks and combustible cigarettes are brought into alignment, the price advantage of heated tobacco products will disappear, with TEREA and Marlboro retailing at the same price in the premium tobacco market.

Japan Tobacco is also planning to raise retail prices for its heated tobacco products as part of a tax reform across tobacco categories, with the new rules taking effect on April 1, 2026. The price increase will apply to all 37 products in the Ploom tobacco stick range and the With pod range.

Within the Ploom lineup, prices for 12 EVO flavors will rise from 550 yen to 580 yen ($3.80); 12 Mevius flavors will increase from 520 yen to 550 yen ($3.60); and 7 Camel flavors will go up from 500 yen to 530 yen ($3.47). In the With series, 6 Mevius tobacco capsule flavors will increase from 600 yen to 620 yen ($4.06).
