According to Trend, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health has proposed banning the circulation of vaping devices, e-liquids, and heated tobacco products.

This is reflected in a draft law published on Uzbekistan’s government portal for discussion of regulatory legal acts.

Under the proposed legislation, the circulation of vaping products would be prohibited “within the country.”

The Ministry of Health also proposed administrative and criminal penalties for violations of the ban, ranging from $1,000 fines to up to five years in prison.

Data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency show that the country’s tobacco product output reached 2.1 billion sticks from January to February 2024.

During the same January-February 2024 period, the country’s tobacco product exports totaled $7.8 million, while imports reached $10.5 million.
