According to SWI, the Swiss government has proposed a new tax on e-cigarettes.
Under the plan, reusable e-cigarettes will be taxed at 0.20 Swiss francs (0.20 USD) per milliliter of liquid, while disposable e-cigarettes will be taxed at 1 Swiss franc per milliliter of liquid, regardless of nicotine content.
The higher tax rate on disposable e-cigarettes aims to deter consumption among minors.
The proposal is expected to generate approximately 13.8 million Swiss francs in additional tax revenue annually.
Earlier this year, voters supported a measure to restrict all tobacco product advertising that young people may see.
