At a meeting of the lower house of the Kazakh Parliament, Majilis, Kuantyrov announced that by 2024, the excise tax on cigarettes should not be less than 28 euros ($29.94).

It is also proposed to increase the excise tax on other tobacco products, such as heated tobacco, to align the tobacco product excise taxes within the Eurasian Economic Union. According to the minister, this will require a phased increase in tariffs.
