According to the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong police have arrested two men for allegedly selling and possessing poisons as defined under Part 1 of the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, as well as selling alternative smoking products. These arrests were made following the implementation of the new e-cigarette ban.<\/div>

The new law, which took effect last weekend, prohibits the import, sale, and manufacture of e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and herbal cigarettes. Those who violate the law face fines of up to HKD 50,000 (USD 6,370) and six months in prison. Under the law, consumers are still allowed to use e-cigarette products.

Police seized 94 boxes of suspected nicotine-containing e-cigarette cartridges and 74 smoking devices from a mobile retail store in Mong Kok.

A spokesperson for the health department stated: “For your health and the health of others, the government urges smokers to quit as soon as possible.”<\/div>
