Tobacco Packaging Standards to Be Updated After Brexit
As the UK was previously part of the EU, the Tobacco Products and Nicotine Inhaling Products (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 revised the 2019 regulations to include amendments on picture warning requirements for tobacco packaging in Great Britain.
Due to the UK's previous membership in the European Union (EU), the Tobacco Products and Nicotine Inhaling Products (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 have amended the Tobacco Products and Nicotine Inhaling Products Regulations 2019 to include amendments regarding image requirements for health warnings on tobacco packaging.
Image Warnings on Tobacco Packaging
In Great Britain (GB), tobacco manufacturers must ensure that any tobacco products released on the GB market after January 1, 2021, must have non-EU text warnings as listed in the image library in Schedule A1 of the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 and the 2019 amendments.
